Watch the video first to see what my night was like...

Yup. We've been hearing something squeak for a few nights now, and I was just thinking it was the fridge. Welll tonight out of the corner of my eye I saw something go swooping by with the cat chasing. At first I thought one of my birds was out.

I turn on the light, and up in the corner of my 20' vaulted ceilings I see a little brown guy.

I tried to shoo him out with my swiffer wet jet (I dont have a broom  ) and that didnt work.

SO I got to climb up my ladder and onto my plant shelves. Did I ever mention I'm TERRIFIED of hights and don't like to be more than 3' off the ground?

On the very top of my ceiling I have windows, and they have verticle blinds. The poor guy was hiding in the corner of one of the windows behind the blinds and yelling at me big time. He was all kinds of mad at me for messing with him LOL

Well I couldnt push him out of the corner with the swiffer, and I didnt want to get bit, so I had to have my DP run me a towel and pillow case so I could grab him. I managed to grab him....then realized I couldnt get down with him.

The DP had to come over and grab the towelled bundle of pillow case with the bat (still yelling his head off at us) inside. We got him outside and on his way.

The whole thing took me almost an hour :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Been there done that!

My Ex had a house in Vermont, and actually had bat houses on his house to attract them! :scared1: It seems its a natural way to keep down the mosquito population.

FYI next time this happens, and this usually works for birds too...open all your windows and shut off all your lights. They will find their way out!

Sorry David, but :rotfl:

I wig out on ladders myself, so I am quite impressed that you were able to do what you did to get rid of the little sucker.

Tried that. When it got dark the little bugger just roosted in the blinds :sad2:

I'm a big fan of bat houses too, and if I were in a house I would make sure to have one :thumbsup2

Awwwwwww........bats are so cuuuuuute. ;) But be careful.......they will steal your wallet while you sleep. :rolleyes1

Samething happened to me at our house in Maine - TWICE!:eek:
On one weekend!:headache:

David, there really is NEVER a dull moment in your life!! :lmao: I too can't do ladders! Thanks for sharing!!

Ladders aren't too bad.....unless I have to get up on one.

Yep, I've even had a bat in my classroom up in the northern tundra--that little guy was terrified. They get everywhere!
