Tonight on the travel channel

Dave, Jocyln (sorry, but I am sure I didn't spell your name correctly), and Erika,

Even though we have been to WDW many, many times and are now DVC owners, I still enjoyed this show. I think you all said somethings about the magic is in WDW that we can all understand! We really enjoyed the show!

We were curious as to how you were lucky enough to be selected for this, and if you can tell us, was it an all expense paid trip (as in winning a contest) or one you had planned and the cameras just went along for the ride??

Thanks,
Karen

This is so great! So is everybody breaking out the Orvil for tomorrow night? We've got another party going on up here in Minnesota for those who missed it the first round (we were full to the gills of teenagers last time).

Either of you two other TC celebrities going to the mouse house in the next 9-16 days? We'll be there for a "real" vacation this time and would love to lunch.

I'd tell you what the other boards were saying, but they weren't that nice. I've drawn most of the critisim for my apparent anal retentiveness and Hawaiian Mickey shirts. I think it's mostly from people who believe they "deserved" to represent more than us. But to all of you who missed out, this trip -- fun as it was -- was no "vacation."

I don't know about the two of you, but we did get to see some interesting backstage places. We got a short tour of the backstage animal areas at AKL and spent a lot of time in the vehicle room of "Dinosaur." The most shocking was when we ran over to the MK for Spectro and were taken backstage of Main Street. We wanted to close our eyes and not look -- I still truly believe that Main Street is real!

Anyway, many more stories to tell, is there an appropriate place where we all can share these stories???

You mean, it's not??? :faint:

Good place as any is here on the Community Board, as it might get moved off of other boards. And as long as you have not agreements with either the film company, Disney or the TC, and you are not a CM, I would think fine.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: RIGHT HERE!!! LOL

I want to hear everything!!

KarenB....... I first heard about the show right here on the DIS. :) The producers posted over on the Disney Rumors and News board... if you do a search you can probably find their old post. There was a link to a questionaire we filled out, then we sent a video, then a phone interview, that was about it.

We saw backstage areas also. But I know I'm not supposed to talk about it so my lips are sealed. :p

Is it on again tonight?? I can't wait to see it again! Now I feel like I "know" a couple of fellow dis'ers!

Thanks for the information Erika! That will certainly be a once in a lifetime adventure for you!! I hope you have a few copies of the tape so you can show your kids when they get older! :)

I found out the same way--right here in the boards. Followed the same process as Ericka...

And yes, we saw tons of backstage stuff...but wouldn't want to ruin the magic by telling too much! Suffice to say - Disney is amazing both on-stage and behind the curtains!

I found out on another web page when a friend I was helping with a trip pointed me in that direction. The video and interview were the critical parts of being chosen from what I was told. After the whole production was done, our family sent the production company another video of us all imitating the members of the crew at home. It was so funny!

After watching the show again tonight, I feel like we all are old friends -- even though I didn't see anyone but a passing "hello" to Jocelyn.

Congratulations to all those who appeared. I thought you all were great. The show tonight was fun to watch.::MinnieMo

As always, I'm the last to know anything around here. :o However, I did catch this show tonight, unbeknownst to me before now, and I immediately wondered if any of those people were DISers?!?! It's sooo great to know that you were!!! Umm, couldn't you have worn something lime green as a clue? ;)

Great job everyone! What a great experience! Thanks!!! :sunny:

Just wanted to say thanks for a fun evening of television! My DD LOVED seing all the rides and kept telling DH , "We HAVE to go do that again" She knows who to work on;) . Maybe I'll get a little winter trip out of the deal. DH is not very good at saying no to DD!;)

All of you did a great job. I would have been so nervous.:D Thanks again!:D

Awesome show made better by the fact that two of our own DISers were involved in the production.

Did the Travel Channel give you guys copies of the show on tape or DVD? I would love to see some outtakes.
