I have heard great things about Tonga Toast. We are planning on using our TS meals for dinner, and use CS for breakfast. Can you get Tonga Toast @ Captain Cook's at Poly or only at Kona? Thanks, Mary

I had breakfast at CC's the day before Thanksgiving and I had the Tonga Toast. Yes,you can get it there.

Yes, after the new redo of Captain cooks I read they serve tonga toast.

i am researching Tonga toast and found this thread. Here is some info on Tonga Toast that I have found so far:

From Mousesavers:

Kona Café is quite reminiscent of a coffee shop circa 1960, but updated substantially. The offerings are updated also. Breakfast has all the usual dishes: pancakes, eggs any which way, omelets and Eggs Benedict. There's also a signature dish - Tonga Toast - which is banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar and either deep fried or baked. Either way, the calories are substantial and you'll walk away from the table with a feeling of deep satisfaction and probably a bit of indigestion.

Kona Cafe in the Polynesian Resort serves its Tonga Toast with a side of breakfast meat for $8.99 (plus tax and tip). At Captain Cook's Snack Company nearby, Tonga Toast is served by itself for $4.49 plus tax.

A recipes for Tonga Toast at home:

From Allears.net

Vegan Tonga Toast from about.com

Rainforest Cafe apparently has a tonga toast, too -- however it is not the same!

:wizard: Anyone know if we an request a vegan Tonga Toast at the poly?:goodvibes

I hope you like sugar. We had Tonga Toast at CCs on our last trip and we all agreed it was a bit sweet for our taste. Maybe we'll share an order this year and see if it was just a bad day.

We just got back from the Poly, and dined for breakfast at both places. The main difference I could tell is the Tonga Toast at Kona comes with a little pitcher of strawberry syrup, but the one at CC does not. However, they do offer strawberry syrup with the Mickey waffles at CC so I imagine all you have to do is ask for some and they'll get it for you.

Tonga Toast! Love the Tonga Toast! :lovestruc I last had Tonga Toast at CC's a little over a year ago. Enjoy it, no savor it. There is nothing like it!

We ate at Kona last month and the first day I had the MACADAMIA NUT PINEAPPLE PANCAKES and OMG---HEAVEN ON A PLATE! Those WERE the BEST pancakes I have ever eaten!

2nd DAY Had the TONGA TOAST and uh...well, I am not a fan. They were so sweet, and just not that good IMHO...(i know, Tonga lovers cover your eyes);) I just wished I had of got the pancakes again! Tonga toast---yuck.

But yes, you can get them at Kona too.:thumbsup2

Tonga toast doesn't need syrup. It's sweet enough without it. I love it. DH and I split it and a fruit plate for breakfast.

Anyone know if 'Ohana has tonga toast for breakfast? I love, love, love tonga toast, but my friend wants to do the character breakfast instead of kona.

I am mixed on how I liked the Tonga Toast. I love bananas, sugar, bread and sweet stuff..but I didn't finish this item. I would probably order it again sometime though.

i cant wait to try tonga toast, i was orginally gong to try it at CC, but instead i rang up the another day and got a ADR for Kona Cafe for next week, 8am!!! cant wait!!!
