Hi everybody :wave2:

I'm looking for some help from someone who has had breakfast recently at Capt Cook's at Poly...

Tonga Toast is listed on the Capt Cook's menu on allears.net (as of 11/08), but not on the Capt Cook's menu from this site (as of 02/07). We'll be on QSDP this June, and I'm really hoping to try the  Tonga Toast. Just looking for confirmation that it is still there, as that would be my only shot at it without a ressie.

TIA!

Tonga Toast has been on CC's breakfast menu since the renovation over 2 years ago. Because the dish is so popular, I doubt that it's leaving any time soon :)

I've read the TT @ CC & Kona isn't exactly the same. How do they differ, & does it make a big difference in how they taste? TIA

The only difference that I heard is that Kona's TT comes with a side of berry coulis. Not a deal breaker for me.

Truthfully, when I ordered Tonga Toast from CC in December it was overdone and really not that great. I should have sent it back.:sad2:

Thanks for answering my question. I knew I read there was a difference. I'm wondering how much the berry coulis adds to the taste, for most people. I know you said it didn't matter to you, but I wonder if some people think the coulis really makes it.

This thread is great. I was just wondering the exact same thing. I was debating on what to do b/c I wanted to go to Ohana for breakfast instead of Kona so i booked Ohana and canceled Kona and told myself that I was just going to go to CC to buy TT as a take away on a different day when I don't have as much time...I hope it works

Thanks for the info

Ate the tonga toast at Capt Cooks on the 18th of March. It was sooooo good and cheaper than at Kona!!! Woo Hoo. It was fun ordering from the touch screen too! ENJOY!!

New here... and planning first trip. What is Tonga Toast? I keep seeing the name but don't know what it is. Thanks!

It is the most delicious, banana stuffed, cinnamon sugared covered humongous french toast you will ever taste. It was served with syrup, but it was so sweet to begin with, that syrup was not necessary!!

Oh Yum!!! I am salivating. I think the excitement surrounding our trip has shifted to the eating and not the touring! Thanks so much for the info!

I don't like it with the strawberry compote... it's better without so you're not really missing out.

I have had it at CC and it tastes exactly the same. Very good.

Ohhh... That looks so good. It looks like it would be perfect with no topping at all. I definitely need to try it soon.

I tried it from CC's in May 2008. It was fabulous! I didn't use syrup or anything, it was sweet enough without it. I've never had it at Kona, but for me, what I had at CC was excellent. Can't wait to go back!

Besides the compote, the only other difference I can think of is at Kona it comes with a side of bacon, ham, or sausage, I believe. The good thing about ordering it at CC's too is that it is several bucks cheaper there than it is at Kona.
