Tomorrow I start my new job, 2pm-1230am 4 nights a week.
Tomorrow DH starts his new job, as Mr. Mom. He's done this before, BUT the kids were so much younger, like 15 months and newborn!
I think I've got everything nailed down for him. Supper will be either ready to go in the oven, or in the crock pot when he gets home. He likes to cook, he just cant. Unless of course its on the grill, and I'll save those nights for soccer nights. If the girls have soccer, everything will be in a bag by the door.
Homework will be his sticking point. DD6 HATES reading homework. Now this kid can read, VERY well for her age, but hates the retelling of the story she has to do. It's a power trip with her and dad over homework. Let's hope he wins.
My biggest issue's are making sure they have their homework DONE and done correctly, and are in bed by 8. If these 2 things happen, everything will go smoothly in the AM for me.
A couple of friends of mine think I'm crazy for believing a man can do this. DH has always been very active with the kids, and contributes to the household chores. Matter of fact, tonight not only did he do the dishes, but I just noticed he folded 2 loads of laundry and put it away!....I am going to make sure that when he gets home the only thing he has to concentrate on is what they need to do.
It's a big change for us, and a even bigger one for the girls, they're use to mom being home with them. Unfortunatly my current position, goes from 50 hours to 25 (during fall/winter/spring) and financially we have to do what we have to do. We've got a few loans that I want paid off, and if it means DH and I swap roles for a bit, well...we swap.
he owns his own business, and unfortunatly winter is also his slowest season.
Wish him luck!
