I think that there may be some confusion.

When the vehicles are in the load/unload turntable area, the motion is ALWAYS slow. The turntable walkway is moving very slowly all the time (in sync with the ride vehicles.)

The pace of the vehicles speeds up once they have left the load/unload area,
and the pace varies for each vehicle at different points along the entire route.

Then, they lock into the very slow pace when they return to the unload area.

The cast members have the ability to slow the loading and unloading area with a remote. Looks like a garage door opener remote they wear on their side. They do NOT always use it.
