Tomorrowland Terrace Wishes Dessert Party

What time/how long before fireworks do I need to get there?
The party always starts one hour before Wishes. Tables are pre-assigned, so you won't get a better table by showing up early, and they replenish the dessert buffets throughout the party, so you don't need to be early for that, either. There can sometimes be a small line for check-in, but usually not more than a 5 minute wait. We've gone several times, and it just depends on our preference that day. If we're not doing anything else, we'll head over a few minutes before the party starts, but if we're on a ride, we've gone over a few minutes after it started.

We have only been to this event once (A LOVED IT!). We showed up about 10 minutes before the fireworks started. The nice thing about showing up that late was that there was no line at check-in. We walked right up, got our bracelets, and went right in. Also, there were no lines at the dessert buffets. Just a few folks here and there since most had already either finished with their desserts or were in the process of eating them. So we pretty much had the dessert buffet to ourselves.

The desserts stay out throughout the fireworks and for a while after the fireworks as well.

It was a great experience. I LOVED having the assigned seats so that we didn't have to worry about our arrival time!

CAUTION:

1. I would NOT recommend that as a regular practice, because...

2. THAT is far from what usually happens.
The more regular practice is for the CMs to CLEAR the dessert bar AND the guest tables during the fireworks.

Well that stinks.

Like I said, that was our first visit. It was on Monday, October 27, 2014. After the fireworks, I went back for more chocolate covered strawberries and my daughters went back for more ice cream while we waited for the crowds to thin out some. We stayed for about 20 mins after the fireworks ended and there were about 5 tables of people left at their seats when we left, so we weren't even the last ones there or the last ones getting desserts.

As you can see, we wore out my oldest (11yrs old):

We are heading back to WDW in April and have scheduled this event for several of the nights since we enjoyed it so much last time. However, if they are going to start shoo-ing us out right after the fireworks, I may have to better plan our arrival time. Thank for the heads-up, Robo.

There's no "shooing out" of guests.
Just no dessert serving tables left after the fireworks.
And, no desserts left on unattended tables (as those guest are standing along the railing for the show.)

Clearing off the desserts on my (potentially unattended) table and clearing out the dessert buffets during the fireworks is pretty much "shooing us out" in my book. :lmao:

But I get what you are saying. ;)

We had an awesome table so we didn't have to stand at the rail or leave our table. We got to see the fireworks from our table without anyone standing in our way. :thumbsup2

But if the dessert buffets still being open after the fireworks was just a fluke on the night we went (and it sounds as if it was), then I'll just have to stock up on chocolate-covered strawberries BEFORE the fireworks and guard them well DURING the fireworks. :lmao:

Our experience also. We have done this twice, plenty of desserts throughout the time before and during the Celebrate The Magic and fireworks. You definitely will not be wanting for plenty of eats.

I've heard from more than a few reviews that they have the stuff out until the end and some times refill it and ppl can take plates to go.

There were no plates-to-go at the Dessert party we attended;) However, there are more than enough wonderful treats to fill you up during it. We stayed 45 minutes after to play some euchre and the CMs who were clearing up thought it was so cool! We told them to let us know when we had to leave, and they did so politely. On another tract: I wonder how the new construction through the strip in front of the party's location will impact future parties? We were there in December and the entire Terrace area was so empty--seems like a waste of prime real estate in MK.

We've done this four times, and Robo's advice has been true in our experiences. I haven't ever seen plates to go, either. They do slow down replenishing the buffet toward the end of the night -- I don't remember them putting much new out once Celebrate the Magic started -- and they typically start clearing the tables while people are standing at the railings to watch the fireworks. They don't rush you out, but the party is over for all intents and purposes once Wishes is done.

We attended this past December, I forget exactly which date, and this was our experience too.

We were at the January 7 party, and this was our experience. We arrived about 25 minutes before the fireworks and there were more desserts than anyone could possibly consume. Our table was in the front row and right next to the dessert buffet. The CMs continued to refill the buffet items (including the chocolate covered strawberries that seemed to go at record speed) through the fireworks. After the fireworks, CMs cleared tables, but continued asking guests to please take more before leaving. We stuck around a bit - not to eat, but to let crowds pass. We left 15 minutes or so after the fireworks ended, and the desserts were still out, ice cream sundae bar still up and running.

I have no idea what the typical practice or policy is - that was just our experience on one night.

Thanks for all these responses! I was hoping that it would be OK to get there say 25 minutes before the fireworks begin instead of a full hour. Looking forward to it! DH was shocked something like this existed that he did not know about before--why haven't we done this every time? Hope it lives up to his expectations.

Is this a seasonal event or can we plan on it for early Nov 2015? When can you book? I am looking for a special family event. We had hoped to do the Sunrise Safari but discontinued.

Tomorrowland terrace dessert party is changing to wishes dessert party I think the date is July 5, 2015. It is more costly, with sparking cider.

If you have a table by the railing how do you stop people from standing in front of you at the railing?

You don't! they come right up and stand in front of your table. It's actually ok you can see fireworks over them except when they start putting kids on their shoulders! Most people are pretty polite and won't crowd right in your face but there are those who could care less whether you can see or not!

We have had the pleasure of first row seating each time we have gone, and I dont mind if they stand in front of me, but last year several had kids on their shoulders, I was unable to see anything..... I was so angry I pushed my kid right to the railing so she could see. Some people are inconsiderate.

I think the CMs tell people to stand near the railing? Or is it just assumed? Anyway, I wouldn't count on not getting blocked even if you get a seat in the front.
