Praying for pixie dust to bring a cancellation so I can book this for my kids and myself during our trip June 4-10. I've read mixed reviews on this event. Fireworks and dessert sounds good to me and I think my kids, 16 & 12 would really enjoy it.

Just keep trying and you might luck out.

I wasn't originally going to do the dessert party on my upcoming trip until they announced a new show. There weren't any when I checked a few times before but I managed to find one last week for May 12th.

Good luck!

If you don't mind moving to the Plaza Garden viewing area for the actual show, they have spots for every night of your trip.

Plaza Garden? Checked and there are openings. Since advance payment is required, I'm wondering what the cancellation policy is in the unlikely event we are unable to make it.

I think its the sam as ADRs, so the day before...but I could be wrong. If you try to book it, it should tell you the policy before you confirm the reservation.

I second that! IMHO the plaza garden view is much better than terrace view. We just did this in February and have already booked it again for our May trip. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax plus perfect view of the castle show and fireplace. You do have to prepay but the cancellation policy is the same.

The fireworks party has a five day cancellation policy (I learned that the hard way when I tried to cancel two days before!). We ended up going and it was FANTASTIC! I highly recommend the party with the Plaza Garden viewing. It's cheaper and the view is much better!

Really can't understand people's desperation for ressies for this dessert party/fireworks viewing.
:confused3 The 'only' thing I can see is the guaranteed spot to view the fireworks - and it's not a good view.

Several years ago (before party) dh & I decided to watch from that point - we were so disappointed not being able to see 'all' the fireworks, we left for a better spot. Could not believe our ears when we found out Disney was going to charge big bucks for the 'privilege' and people were flocking to it!

We've tried different locations over the years, but front and center of castle is the only place we'll view from anymore. If we can't see/experience the whole thing, we'd rather not see any (the same for outside the parks also).

I know, it's to each their own!! :goodvibes
We all have different expectations.

I agree with pp - if you are going to pay, the Plaza Garden is 'much' better viewing!

For me the session why I do this is that I have a disability that make watching the firer works where I am in a crowded place where people are constantly bumping into me very had and then I always get the parent that put there child on there shoulder right in front of me so then I can not see a thing. I do this about once a year It gives me space that I need, the dessert is good, and I know I will be able to see the fireworks, works out great for my needs

Would your payment be credited back to your card then if you have to cancel? Just want to be clear before I book. Disregard ~ called and as long as you cancel more than 24 out it's credited back. Thanks for your help.

This was the cancellation policy when we did the dessert party with plaza viewing in December:

There is a 5 Day cancellation policy. Full price will be charged/forfeited if canceling within 5 Days or no show of the reservation.

Make sure you read the fine print in your confirmation.

I did this on New Year's Eve, and I had a blast! It's not the best view, that is right, but it's a decent view, at least from the railing. The desserts are good, too. Can you eat $40-$50 worth of desserts in an hour and a half? Maybe, but you'll need to see an endocrinologist afterwards.

Jokes aside, I liked having a more secluded area to see the fireworks, and not stuck in the gaggle of people. I also enjoyed being able to enjoy the park before the end of the night, instead of having to stake out a spot at 4:00, and be stuck there all day (this being on arguably THE busiest day of the year)

Can confirm 5 day cx policy. Just got the reminder. The plaza view is a GREAT spot to view, and at a busy time (e.g., spring break) seems quite worth it.

That's the same reason I booked the dessert party last year on the 4th of July. Not only did we have a 'bump-free' area to watch the fireworks from, we had the added bonus of being able to remain at our table for about 30 minutes after the fireworks ended while the park started to empty out. Highly worth the price for me and my family considering my disability.

Just curious, was the dessert party for the 7:30pm Holiday Wishes or the NYE fireworks at 11:50pm?

It was for the NYE fireworks at 11:50. Wishes went off first, and then the special count down fireworks right afterwards. Pardon the fuzz in the following picture, the lens I had used was dropped during the trip during a bag check, and I wasn't sure if it was damaged, or not. I think it has was.

The exact time this picture was taken: Dec 31, 2014, 11:59:52 pm (that's an 8 as fireworks) :D

We did the dessert party in February and really enjoyed it. Initially I booked the Plaza Garden viewing one, but my mom really wanted a seat to see the show. She has started to have some mobility issues. So I switched our reservations. We got there about 6:30 and had a great seat on the rail towards the back. We could see the castle quite well with very little obstruction. The desserts were decent, the ice cream was plentiful, and the staff were very nice. I enjoyed it.

If I didn't have my mom, and it was my husband and stepson, I'd go with the Plaza Viewing.
