I realize during free dining certain venues are opened for TS meals that would normally not be so. I have a question regarding this, and Tomorrowland Terrace.

I made all of our dining rezzies a few weeks ago when booking a last minute vacation. Since then, I have been poking around to see if anything has opened up that I might want to switch too. (I'm happy with most reservations, but not as much as I would like to be with two young kids etc.).

Anyway, I have a rezzie booked for a Sunday evening, late August, at The Wave. Never been there, and it looks OK, but not sure how a 7 year old and 8 month old will like it. :)

In poking around today, I noticed the "Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe" has evening rezzies a few nights a week and is listed as a TS meal, need rezzies etc. Has anyone ever eaten there during this time? What kind of food was it, and how did you like it? Would you stick with The Wave rezzie?

Only reason I'm thinking about this is that it is still in the park, and it will be an MK day for us. (Not that the Contemporary is a far drive or anything, but still).

Thanks!

as far as I know, it is an 'overflow' buffet they set up during peak times to allow for more TS places to dine (I think they also set up the Diamond Horseshoe Revue like this as well).
I've never eaten there but it looks like it exists solely for those on the DDP, because IIRC, the prices for what they were serving (in a temporary location) were outrageous.
I found this on allears.net from last year during the free dining period:

Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe - will be open for dinner on Aug. 24, 31, Sept. 7 and 14, 2008 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.. Dinner will be buffet style featuring breads, salads, pastas and carved to order Chimichurri Beef Strip Loin. Dinner is $35.00 for adults, and $18.00 for those ages 3-9. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, this is counts as one Table Service meal.

Hi!
I am from the Lehigh Valley as well! I was looking for something in MK too,for EMH on the 30th,and saw they were taking dinner reservations as well.I have never eaten there just for CS, however,I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I was able to get 8:25pm ADR's,and thought it might be worth it just to be able to watch Wishes while eating dinner!
Hopefully the food is halfway decent, but if not,no biggie for us if we don't like it,we'll just get something else to eat later, but I figure if the food is from the Contemporary,as I learned, then it probaly couldn't be all that bad either. If it is,we certainly aren't going to starve missing one meal, and we aren't paying for it with free dining,so why not take the chance, especially with a guarenteed seat to see Wishes!
If anyone has eaten here on the dining plan last year,I would be interested in hearing your opinions about the buffet they serve.
Have a nice trip!
