It looks like Tomorrowland Speedway will be the first height requirement my little one will hit, just in time for our trip in May.

I know he will be tall enough, but is under 2 too young to ride? It's been years since I've cared to ride the Speedway, but from what I remember it's half bumper cars. Haha

When did you first take your kids on the speedway?

Daughter 2-1/2, loved it.

DS-20 months liked (but didn't love) it. He could barely see over the steering wheel - not that it matters w/the track in the middle - but it was definitely exciting for us to take him on his first height restriction ride. We used FastPasses here b/c we didn't want to wait in a long line with all of the fumes, and he got to ride twice w/both mom and dad.

My youngest was not yet 2 when she rode along for the first time. My then-5yo drove and the little one screamed "Sydney's a bad dwiva" (driver in baby from NJ language) the whole ride.

Should be fine. At its core, a kid just sits in it while the parent drives, so it is really no different than sitting in any of the dark rides. You just run the risk of getting rear-ended and the youngster getting bounced a lot.

It is also very loud, so that may scare some young children.

My son just turned three (36") when he first went on it and loved it!

Our son, much older than 2, just wanted to go on this when he was a youngster. So, we joined the line and he was eager to show off just how fast his Dad could drive. But then we started to talk to the people (and the kids) in front and in back of us. Once my son realized that the smaller kids just wanted to be in the car, he backed off on his "threats". So, I encourage you to talk to your child while in line and also to the people in front and in back of you. Might not work to the best advantage but all might have some fun. I'd also suggest you make sure your little one knows that's it's just a ride and not everyone really drives that way.

My son was 33 inches at 11 months old, so he was on it for his first trip to Disney at that age and has loved it ever since!! He sat on my lap and 'helped' steer.

He is 9 now and after 11+ trips to Disney this is still very high on his must do list!

Definitely go for it! But do consider a FP (we get it as a 4th or 5th) - as the line can be kind of stinky and hot!!
