I was able to get reservations for the dessert party for our trip in October. I am wondering if anyone can give me some information about it. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, both boys. Is it worth it for us? When I called this morning they told me that there really aren't seats, that you stand for it?? Thank you in advance!!

There are tables that are assigned to each family. What you stand for is to see the fireworks at the railing. But no, you do sit for the dessert portion.

Maybe the person you spoke with was confused with the Illumiations Sparkling Dessert Party in Epcot? There you basically stand for the whole time unless you can grab one of the very few tables.

I've been to the TTDP and will be again for our August trip and I can't wait :cool1: It's a great party and the kids will love it!

Thank you! I was a little confused when I spoke with her. Do you know if you are seated based on when you get there or based on when your reservation is?

From what I understand it is based on when you make your reservation so in theory the closer to the 180 day mark the better the seats. But truly there is space at the rail when the time comes. It's not like you are 4-5 people deep. It really doesn't have alot of people there. Maybe 100-200 tops.

The one thing I would suggest is to come when they tell you or line up a few minutes earlier only because when some of the desserts are done they do not replace them and when the fireworks are about to start they start taking things away.

Oh and the best part? You are on the side that Tinkerbell flys down the castle from. She goes basically right over your head. :thumbsup2

We loved this in May with our girls ages 5 and 7 at the time. Make sure if there is a Photopass photographer right when you check in, that you get a family picture with the castle lit up in the background. We had PP+, and my girls wanted to have their picture done with every different color of the castle lighting in the background! Since most other families didn't seem to notice or want to have pics done, she took about 30 pictures of our family! So fun! We did get the desserts first, then the pictures. We had a great table right on the rail (I made the reservations on the first day I could at 180 days +10). I think your family will enjoy it!

The only issues we had were that it starts so late, but we did it our first night since we live in Texas and at least on that night it would "feel" an hour earlier to my kids. As well, the bathroom is outside of the designated Dessert party area. If you are potty traning, it can be a bit of a walk. The bathroom was tiny, several kids had had accidents on the floor, and the paper towels were out. That was the only real downer of the experience. Not sure if there are other bathrooms, but this was on the Tomorrowland Terrace area, and that is where the CM told us was the closest.

Is the party worth it for this age? It depends on your children! If they are use to later nights then I would say give it a shot! We booked this last November it was our first trip with our 3 children ds6, dd3, dd1 so we didn't really know how the kids would do on a big vacation. After a day at the parks and a break for a nap my kids were still exhausted by the time the party started. We pushed them because we had already paid for it so we sat at our table and ate a few snacks while we waited for the fireworks to begin. Then just as they are starting the castle show they began to really fall apart. We left about 10 minutes later. It was a wonderful set up and if our children were a little older I think it would have been great. But for us when we look back on the trip this is one of the things we wish we would have cancelled. My husband and I agreed it would have been a great idea for a date night!

This is the shaky video I took of tink flying overhead on our trip last October.

We loved the desssert party. I wouldn't say it's worth it per se for our 4 yr old DD but the experience, the seating, the fireworks, the package deal was wonderful. They pistachio creme brulee is gone quickly!

A couple other comments. With one of your DS's being two he'd still be free so this is a great time to try it. I tried to do a lot just before DD turned 3 so she was still free :)

They have tons of desserts to choose from but also have fruits, etc. Our DD went for the strawberries while I ate the creme brulee.

As for bathrooms there are two which are very close but both are outside the terrace area. The ones up under the tomorrowland noodle station cover are very small but usually empty. If you walk down towards main st (going towards the plaza restaurant) there is a huge set of bathrooms right on the left. I found the bigger restrooms seem to be newer and are easier for trying to get in the stall with a child. The smaller ones have smaller stalls as well.

We even went here once with DD when she was only 9 months old. She fell asleep in her stroller and I just put on some noise cancelling ear muffs and she slept through everything while we relaxed and enjoyed desserts and the show. If you think they might be tired or noise sensitive that's a nice option.
These are the ones we purchased but they have other colors too

We did this in July and thought it was worth the money to just have a designated place to watch fireworks without the crowds. The desserts were just a bonus! My ds was almost 2 when we went and enjoyed it. I put him in his pajamas beforehand and after the fireworks we stayed in Tomorrowland so the older kids could ride Space Mountain one last time. He fell asleep in his stroller and by staying back we were able to not have to fight the huge crowds leaving the parks. One thing though...You won't be able to see the parade very well from the Terrace so just something to keep in mind if you were planning on watching it.

Tables are assigned based on when you make the reservation. We made ours as soon as possible and we had a table close to the desserts and right by the railings. You'll want to line up at least a half hour to an hour before the party starts. That way you'll be seated and be able to grab your desserts right away once they start letting people in. Do not wait to get desserts, grab them as soon as you enter. Generally I would stand by the railing about 10-15 minutes before the show starts. At our party it was half and half, some families went by the railing and others chose to remain seated. I had no trouble getting an excellent spot by the railing.
