Okay so I've never seen the tomorrowland entrance but keep reading about it. How does it work? I'll have a 3 day hopper - can I use this entrance? I will be staying at HoJo's. What about opening? Say if the park opens at 9, instead of using the main entrance can I use this one?? Or on MM's? :confused3

I'm confused!! :worship:

There is not a TL entrance per se. The monorail picks up in DTD and drops passengers inside DL at TL. You of course need your park tickets to do this. If you are at HoJo's that would be far out of your way to go to the DTD pickup for monorail. You would have to walk past the normal DL entrance to the other side of DTD.

Well I was more thinking along the lines of if I were already at the DLH or DTD or whatnot. Say, for example, I have breakfast inside one of the hotels, then want to get to the park for opening. Could this be achieved by taking the monorail & bypassing some crowds (AND entering via TL vs Main St)?

You can do this sometimes. I wouldn't "count" on it. Sometimes the trains are for hotel guests only. We encountered this when staying at an offsite hotel, we cut thru DTD and tried to ride the monorail in. They informed us at the moment it was handling resort guests only and you needed a room key along with tickets to ride. So we hoofed it to the main entrance.

As PP posted said, sometimes the monorails might be limited to just onsite guests early in the morning.

However, even if they are available for everyone in the morning, it's a hit or miss on whether or not it beats the crowds. Usually it doesn't beat the main gate crowds, and you would have to be on THE first monorail to have any small chance of beating the crowds. The monorail does not go very directly to TL also. It kinda loops around TL and FL a few times before actually arriving at the TL station.

Best bet: Arrive at the main gate before park opening (15-30 min is a good amount of time to be towards the front of the lines).

Okay thanks for the tip, I'll just do that and use the monorail if I'm in the area later in the day. It's pretty neat to have a different way in to the parks though :goodvibes

I have no idea but wonder if this was a result of all the monorail problems they have had (and still have I believe) in recent years which meant more limiited service?

yes, that is what I have always believed it is, has been and continues to be the reason. :goodvibes It really has been going on for years we encountered this back in 07 and several times this year. Actually whenever we have been able to ride it this year it's been during a period of limited service; one way trips, no return. They actually made everyone vacate and then return to line if you wanted to go back. We hav'nt been very lucky! Lol
