Tomorrowland/ Astro Orbitor rehab?

I was looking at the great WDW pics on Safetymom's album site and noticed the tarp over Astro Orbitor. I assume it is being rehabed. Will it be reopened by midApril? Is the Tomorrowland arch also new? It is awesome. I'm wondering why I've never noticed it before. Safetymom?? do you know?

The Astro Orbitor is being rehabed already!??! Wasn't this just redone when they refurbished Tomorrowland? Puzzling...

Oh, wait, I'd better check the date on those pics. No, the date was Feb. 16, 2005 - just last week. Yikes!

Reportedly, there was a "problem" with Astro Orbiter and the took it into rehab before it was scheduled. The Tomorrowland Arch has been there since they re-themed the entire area a few years ago to "Buck Rogers/Jules Verne" futuristic theme, but it is easy to miss because it is so large you really don't notice it when you cross under it. It is easier to see from a distance.

Did they ever complete/fix the things on the tomorrowland sign that were not working?

I wish they would make the actual cars on the ride more user friendly. They are the most difficult attraction cars to get in and out of I have encountered in all of WDW.

Love Astro-Orbiter at night with all of the lights on in the park.... so pretty!

When we had a quick trip 3 weeks ago, there was a large tarp and those wall things all around it. We were there for a one day trip yesterday and those were gone but it was still closed for rehab. Anyone know how long it will be closed? This is one of my girls fav rides and we are going for a real vacation in April.

According to the Magic Kingdom operational status website, it will open on 25 Feb... Three days from now.
