Tomorrow is 180 days ... I have a question!

Tomorrow morning I'm waking up at o'dark thirty to try and get some ADRs. We are planning on doing a DDP but haven't added it to our reservation yet.

When I book my ADRs tomorrow, I'm assuming I'm going to have to put a credit card down. Is this just to HOLD the reservation? Or will it actually charge my card at this time? This will ultimately impact which card I use.

If it charges, what happens when I add my DDP? Am I reimbursed?

I should've asked this ages ago. Hopefully someone is still awake and can help me out!!!

For the majority of meals, you're giving them a credit card only so that it can be charged if you don't show up for your ADR and haven't cancelled at least a day in advance. This was put into place because too many people were making multiple ADRs in different restaurants for the same time to keep their options open, and they weren't cancelling the ones they didn't use, thereby keeping others from making ADRs and leading to lots of no-shows. For those, nothing is charged when you make the ADR. There are some special meals - Hoop De Doo Revue, CRT, and others I can't think of offhand - that will charge your card when you make the ADR, but that will be made clear at the time. You can still get a refund for those, but you have to cancel a couple of days in advance. Again, the terms will be made clear when you make the ADR.
