TOM Woes/Scale addiction

I am one of those daily weighers. I am so addicted and attached to my scale. I hate how my whole self worth for the day depends on what the number said that morning.

Now, it is that TOM, and I am up 3lbs. I know it is just water, and my thighs measure the same (i'm obsessed with measuring too, lol) but it is sooo hard for me to stay focused without my scale!!!

It is just so hard for me to believe that the weight will go away and I can't quit thinking about it. I hate this!!!
 
I too am a scale addict!
Seriuosly, I weight myself every morning! ( you know why I do it in the morning! lol)
Anyway, if I am good the day before, and dont cheat, the scale literally goes down every day! I know that sounds weird but true. BUT.................if I cheat even just a little it wont move or will go up!
I honestly think its all mental! I mean what are the chances of losing a pound a day! NOT! Over all, even though, I weigh myself everyday and it goes up and down on a daily basis, as long as I lose on a monthly basis I am happy!
I did put the scale in the shed for a while and tried my hardest to forget about it but that didnt last long!
About TOM, I know what ya mean us daily weighters are effected bad by TOM. just keep in mind that is just TOM!

Scale-watching can be pretty dangerous. Especially when it's tied into control issues and self-esteem. Just be aware of that if you cannot stop. As far as TOM, if you can get comfortable with it being what it is I think that's the best plan. I had a small scoop of ice cream yesterday b/c this week is a nightmare for me. I've decided if I don't "honor" it in some way I'll end up over the deep end.

It all really depends on what you do when you get off that scale. If your day changes based on what that scale says, it might be better to try to avoid it for a couple of days. It's a small sacrifice for a greater good, IMHO.
 
I am in the same situation right now! I know that TOM is coming and the scale shows it. What makes it harder is that I am really trying to recommit myself back to WISH and my goals and finish what I started a year ago and this isn't helping!! :mad: But I am just trying to remember that it is only temporary and next week I'll be a whole lot happier. Also keep in mind that weight can fluctuate in general from time to time and it's okay. Just keep working towards your goals and you'll be fine! Good luck you!
