Does Tom Sawyers Island close at a certain time? We will be there 1 day next week and it is my sons favorite thing to do and I want to go in the evening when it isn't so hot.. wondering if it is only open until a certain time.
Thanks!

It usually does close earlier than the park. I think the rule is "when it gets dark." There should be a posted time for the island rafts to stop running for the day. I know this is the case at WDW, but I am slightly less familiar with DL.

Yes it usually closes around dusk, there is a sign posted by the "dock" that says when the last raft leaves.

Thank you!! If anyone happens to be there this week and sees the last departure time.. I would love that info.

When I was there for the 24hr day last month, the last raft back to shore was at 5pm. I know, that seems kinda early to me, especially in the summertime, but I think they need to prep for F! or something like that.

Good question, we've never been over to TSI and would like to go on our next visit.

You can also get a sense of the hours by looking up the operating hours for Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyers Island.

As mentioned by Angrose, Pirate's Lair is only open until 5:00 pm, which is also when the last raft leaves the island. I would assume that they stop transporting guests to the island before that (probably around 4:30 pm or so). I agree that they close the island early to start prepping for F!.

I think I took a raft over there around 4:40. I just remember only having about 15-20min to explore before having to get back to the raft. I didn't want a whole 'Cast Away' situation happening!

My son has "dibs" on the "loot" on the island :)

It's his favorite run-around and explore area. We spend quite a lot of time on the island. He has been trying to figure out how to get the "treasure" off the island for years!

See, I don't even know what you're talking about!
