I like this idea. This is one of those not well known little plusses of being at Disney. MY husband and daughter and I would go to TSI and hunt for them. People would be looking at us when we found them and wondering why we were so excited.

It's sad that we won't be doing this on our next trip.

From what I remember they stopped around or shortly before the BTM refurb began, and that was the oft-cited reason they stopped (since they often gave out FPs for BTM as the prize), but there were also rumors swirling that there were problems with people running crazy trying to find them and an occasional altercation over them...

I don't see the "new system", which has yet to actually be implemented and is still looking to be a year out at least, as having anything to do with it. Giving out a handful of FPs isn't going to overload anything unless they were pushing it too close to the edge to begin with and taken away all flexibility.
