Tom Sawyer Island Question

I heard if you go to Tom Sawyers Island, and find paint brushes while there you will receive fast passes for the day. Does anyone know if there is any thuth to this?

You will get a fast pass but only for SM and not for the whole day

I thought you could use it on BTMRR or Spalsh Mountain? At least, that's what ours said when we got it, years ago...

Some people have posted that the CMs didn't take the pass, and they used it over and over... but don't count on it!

The CM's use to take the special fast pass but so many people wanted to keep it as a souvinier that it looks like they now let you keep them. The fast pass you get if you find the paint brush is for your whole group, no matter how many, and can be used on either BTMRR or SM, your choice. If your family is on one of the early rafts over to the island be sure to look all around the dock area, Aunt Poly's, and around the windmill for a paint brush.

We did this last week and actually found a paintbrush! You get a fastpass for the entire family for either Splash Mountain or BTMRR. We asked the CM how long the search usually goes on. He said it depends on who hides the paintbrushes. Most of the time they are all found by 11 a.m. We decided to ride BTMRR with the FP. Well, we got to the FP line and the CM asked if we had been to Splash Mountain. He said that he wasn't supposed to do it, but keep the FP and ride Splash Mountain too. So we got to the FP line for Splash Mountain and I asked the CM if I could keep it for the scrapbook. Asked if he could void it. He said just to keep it. I suppose you could use it again but we decided to be honest and not use it again. Does make a great souvenir along with the picture of the family with the elusive paintbrush! My kids have decided that this is definitely a worthwhile search!
