I wonder how long after Cars Land opens... will the Speedway remain open? I fully expect this is going to end another classic attraction before this is all over.

I don't mean to be contrarian, but the rides are very different. Unless I'm not correct, with Cars you get in a ride vehicle and it does all the work like lots of WDW attractions. The Speedway is an entirely different dynamic where you have full control of a little car (albeit it forces you to stay in the rails). Each of our kids loved "graduating" into being tall enough to drive on their own. We still love Speedway so hopefully it can stay

I'm personally not convinced that Speedway will close. It's a very different ride from the new ride opening in Cars Land. The new attraction in Cars Land will be more along the lines of a Test Track style of ride rather than physical cars people drive themselves.

Yeah, they are not in the same category. Other attractions in Tomorrowland will go before the Speedway does. It is a "kiddie ride" and the Carsland ride will be a "thrill ride". In no way do they compete with each other. If we are talking "like" rides why do we have Dumbo and Aladdin?

Speedway 32" to ride, and can even drive if with someone 54".
Radiator Springs 40" to ride.
They both bring value and do not compete, and Speedway is too important for those in between kids not quite tall enough.
