Tom Cruise/Penelope Cruz have split up

Just thought I would pass that along... just saw on GMA.

Hmm.. I read in this months Hollwood Life about an unnamed "beautiful male female couple" that recently split. The article did not name names, but stated that a breakup was imminent. The article also stated that this couple had a fight, and was seen by others "grappling each other in a hotel bathroom".

The minute I read that little tidbit, I thought it was the Cruise/Cruz couple. It really could be anyone, but that was the first person I thought of.

Good. I was really irritated how Mr. Cruise dumped Nicole & kids.

I am afraid he is with someone else though.

The article saw said the break-up took place at the end of January and is "amicable" (aren't they always).

Rumor is that Tom is wanting Nicole back. Don't know how much of that is true.

JMHO - These two seemed wrong from the start. I didn't see the chemistry and was actually surprised it lasted this long.

T. Cruise seems to have gotten into Scientology very deep over the recent years and apparently P. Cruz had little interest in that.

I think i'm one of a very small minority who doesn't "get" what people see in Tom Cruise. I've never found him cute or appealing.

ITA! Nicole has never been one of my favorite Hollywood people, but she appeared to handle the divorce with such grace. She definitely deserves better...

He comes off as extremely phony to me. I watched a few minutes of Tom Cruise in the Actor's Studio, and couldn't stomach him.
I like some of his movies, but whenever he's in an interview, it seems as if he's always trying to be "on."

I am right there with you in that minority. He bugs the heck out of me, and I haven't seen one of his movies since Cocktail.

My former boss tells me I look and act exactly like Penelope Cruz. He's nuts. I look more like Kobe Bryant than I do Penelope Cruz. And I'm a white woman.

I also heard that the rumor was he wanted Nicole back. I also have to admit that I never found him appealling. I still can't shake that he is of another persuasion.

I laughed out loud when I hear this on GMA this morning. Not because they broke up...but because it was right in there with 9-11 hearnings and news about a serial killer in Kansas. I mean, WTH? Why is this "News"??? It just struck me as funny that the news ancher sat there talking about this like we should care!

As for Tom Cruise...I have nothing against him personally (hard to, since I don't know him), but he just isn't a good enough actor for me. Maybe it's because his off-camera life is so talked about. But, whenever I see him, I see "Tom Cruise" and not the character. Tom Cruise in a race car, Tom Cruise on a horse, Tom Cruise in a robe with swords....it's still Tom Cruise! He's not a good enough actor to make me believe his characters.

I had read somewhere (I think People) that their troubles started when she became pregnant because he wasn't able to conceive (hence their other adopted children) and he suspected she was fooling around. I saw him say in an interview once that Nic knows exactly why he left.

I don't know what is true but I wouldn't assume it is automatically his fault for leaving. He seems to have stayed close to her for the kids sake as well since the break up which doesn't always happen.

MosMom, I heard the same thing you did about Tom not being able to have kids and Nicole getting pregnant then miscarrying. I like Tom Cruise and I didn't like him with Penelope. They didn't make a good couple in my opinion.

I'm not a Tom Cruise fan but I don't dislike him either. However, I did not like the "couple" of TC with Penelope, Nicole, or Mimi (his first wife). None of it seemed right to me.

I have never met him, but his relationship with Nicole blossomed in my community (<I>Spruce Creek Fly-In</I>) when they were staying here while filming <I>"Days of Thunder."</I> He was renting a condo and she rented a house on the other side of the golf course. Other residents spotted him running across the golf course in the middle of the night to go see her, because he was still married to Mimi at the time and did not want things made public. Cute, but . . .

I agree with the poster who believes TC is of a <I>"different persuasion."</I> Hence no kids of his own. For those of you old enough - Think about Rock Hudson and the lovely ladies he used to have on his arm in public, and the one he married to cover his "persuasion."

Beautiful women are good for TC's image. I think the cycle will continue. Just my opinion.

Well at least he doesn't have Rosie O'Donnell mooning all over him publicly anymore. That was pretty nauseating.
