Tom Brady Confirms Gisele Had a Baby Boy!

Kevin Mazur/WireImage.comUs Magazine Gisele Bundchen and her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, have welcomed a baby boy.

He announced the birth at a press conference Wednesday, calling it "a wonderful experience in my life."

He said the baby and mom are in good health. He added that they have not picked out a name yet.

He also said the baby's birth will not affect his availability for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

After being asked a slew of questions about the birth, Brady told reporters, "Let's talk football."

According to The Boston Globe, which also reported the pregnancy, Bundchen's mother and at least a few of her sisters were at her bedside when she delivered the baby.

Usmagazine.com first reported the couple was expecting last summer; Brady, 32, first confirmed the news this past September.

The new dad's one request?

"I told her...no Sundays," the New England Patriots quarterback joked to ESPN about when she could give birth.

Brady -- who wed the model, 29, in an intimate, traditional Catholic ceremony Feb. 26 in Santa Monica, Calif. -- also found out their baby's sex before his bride.

"She's a very intelligent woman. I wanted to find out, and she didn't, so she said, 'Go ahead,'" he revealed to Boston's WEEI radio station shortly before Bundchen went into labor. "It will be a surprise for her."

Brady has a 2-year-old son, John, with ex Bridget Moynahan.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Bundchen said she felt the kid was "100 percent" hers.

"I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that's important, but I love him the same way as if he were mine," she said. "I feel grateful because I have a lot of love in my life. I found the person I'm sharing my life with. I have a good man."

What can you expect from a man that left one pregnant girlfriend for another...

:confused3

what did he do that is so bad?
he wanted to talk football?

As a Colts fan, I'm all for a good bash Tom Brady thread....but I don't see anything that he said (posted above) that is such a big deal.

He joked about not wanting the baby born on a Sunday? We'll as a NFL QB, I could see where he would think that was funny.

He asked to keep the press conference about football and not his private life? I don't think that is out of line either.....

was he there to have a press conference about the baby or football?

if it was for football I think it was nice that he shared a little about his personal life.

I have been around atheletes a lot. He sounds pretty typical to me. A lot of pros miss births because of games. Same that would happen to any of us whose spouses travel for business. I cant tell you how many trips to the ER Dh has missed. The difference being my DH would be able to come home if I was in labour or at least try to plan around it. Sometimes you cant though.

His comments were fine. He gets paid big money to play football and it would be crazy for him to miss a game because his wife delivered a baby a few days earlier. I don't see anything wrong with what he said. Now, leaving your pregnant girlfriend for another woman is not cool... But there is nothing wrong with his statements today.

Do you want to walk out your front door and be expected to tell the intimitate details of your entire life to MILLIONS of STRANGERS?? I sure as heck don't. I don't think its any of anyones business, and he should keep to talking about just football.

You got that right. He better pay attention to football right now. The Patriots are not doing well.

It just kinda goes to show what is important to him. A birth of a son OR football?

Sad indeed.

Add me to the list who are confused as to what he did wrong.

:confused3:confused3:confused3

I remember some fuss when he left the first pregnant girlfriend but I don't recall the exact details.

But as for the birth, football importance is part of the job. Pro football players are expected to be there on Sunday and it is extremely rare for them not to be ... even in extreme family situations such as death and birth. So no Sunday is just kind of the way it is. I wonder how many inductions are done to avoid it?

He doesn't want to talk about his private life so you equate that with he thinks football is more important.

That is quite the leap.

I don't think he left his first baby momma for his new baby momma - reports at the time said they had broken up, after the break up he moved on and she discovered she was pregnant. They seem to be working it out for the 2 year old.

People worried about him playing football on Sunday? I just read an article in Sports Illustrated about Brett Farve playing football less than a day after his father died!

Say what you want about the athletes and their money, but their, and their family's dedication to the sport is outstanding - I am sure Brett's dad would have wanted him to play, and Gisele probably feels the same way.

I agree with you, nutterbutter2010. What's wrong with this thread. People are disagreeing with the op, but aren't being rude.

I remember when Brett Favre played after his dad died. It was a very emotional game.

Agree.

I think a lot of men feel that way about Sundays and Football...I was in labor with my first son on January 28th, 2001 when the Giants were playing in the Super bowl and I was the ONLY ONE in the whole maternity wing that entire day. The nurses said all the other husbands were telling their wives to hold their babies in until after the game. My DH is a Steelers fan so no worries, LOL

As for him leaving his Preg girlfriend, I think it's my understanding they were broken up before she told him she was pregnant. On another note, I am not a huge Tom Brady fan but think he was joking.
