Tolls? How much?

We are driving from NB at the end of summer, we have questions about the tolls we will encounter. How much are they? Do you have to have exact change? How many lanes?

What route are you planning on driving? This will determine the amount of tolls. There's a few different possible combinations between NB and Florida.


If you do have a toll, exact change is not necessary (though I'd advise paying in US funds).

most tolls in the US are usually about a dollar. but that could only get you about 10 minutes worth of driving and then you come to another toll. if you stick to the I highways you should be fine. I know once you get into florida and get closer to Orlando you will have to onto a toll road and pay once or twice before you get to WDW.

I have an older trip tik for Florida from CAA...they list tolls...But they may have changed.

We could go into CAA together and I could get you a new one.

There a about $4 of tolls in Canada near St.John...I think

About $ US near the Mass Pike.

and only a fewmore down the road.

I95 all the way down?

Or are you going to swing over further east? There's lots of $0.50, and even a $0.25 toll somewhere in NJ if you're staying on the 95 - if I remember correctly..and you have to have the right change...and not CDN coin!LOL

My parents take a route that swings off at Scranton, PA, and it gets them onto 4lane roads...avoids the trucks and the 8 lane Parkways. Let me know if you'd like the routing, and I'll get it from dad.

We were thinking about heading the Scranton, PA since we've been hearing it a better drive, we will be hitting the big cities early in the day if we take the I95 so we are really considering going a bit east. We may leave at supper time (my DH works shift work so we'll catch him coming off nights) and try to drive 12-13 hours stop for lunch , I'll drive through part of the day so he can sleep (hopefully another 8 hours ++) and then we'll stop for the night, I don't know how far we can get driving this route in 20-21 hours so where to stop...
Yes mbb I'd love the routing from your Dad , all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Sam,if you can find the old one that would be great, we are planning on joining CAA for that extra security on the road and I probably should get a
"trip tik", not familiar with them personally but I've heard about them!
