Do I have to pay a toll when driving from MCO to Universal?

Thanks

I think you have to pay two. It depends on which way you go.

I paid two each way to and from HRH. Fairly minimal. Suggest you bring a pocketful of quarters so you don't get delayed.

Is there a way I can go without paying the tolls?

How much is it anyway?

Thanks

The tolls are only in the $1.50-2.50 range combined . IMHO, not worth trying to avoid if you are unfamiliar with the area. :tilt:

Yes, but it will take you longer. The toll is $1.25 (each way) total. There is a .75 cent one at the airport and a .50 cent toll at around mile marker 4 or 6.

If you really want to avoid it head North on 436 out of the airport. Turn left on to Frontage Rd. (first light out of the airport). Take that to Daetwyler and make a left (Frontage will end there). Make a right at the 7-11 which puts you on Sand Lake Rd. Take Sand Lake to Universal Blvd. and make a right. It will lead lead you right onto USF property.

Paying the tolls is the quicket way to get from MCO to Universal. You can go around, but you will hit like a million stop lights on the way. They always seem red too! :)

from MCO to USF

Non Toll Method - doing this from memory so please dont take this as being exact -

I went other way HRH to MCO and paid no tolls and it took roughly same amount of time.

- exit MCO to S Semorian (North exit)
- Take McCoy Road West
- McCoy Road turns into Sand Lake Rd after S Orange Ave (SR 527) traffic light-stay on SR 482 continue on Sand Lake Road SR-482
- Turn Right at S S Kirkman SR-435
- Entrance to USF is on left about two miles from Sand Lake.

Some of the back roads will just get you lost. Also, make sure you have change. Some of the tolls are not manned just automatic.

Sand Lake Road is hardly a "back road"-there are no back roads in Orlando.

like I said - never went from MCO to USF but
went the other way (ie: to MCO) in '03

South on Kirkman (SR436)
East on Sand Lake (SR482)
Sand Lake becomes McCoy Rd after SR527
proceed to airport

was very simple. there were signs everywhere as in
airport ahead 2 miles.

This way
- no tolls, although hardly a big deal.
- no Bee Line or I-4 traveling

-similar times and mileage
