I am wondering how often the cooking class is held in Epcot? Several times a day? I would love any advice you might have on getting into this. I went back and forth on making reservations for the cooking class at the GF, but I thought we would try the FREE class this trip (the kids are doing the pirate cruise and we have 3 character meals scheduled :)). This is our first trip in January, so I am trying to pace myself, BUT IT IS VERY HARD!! I am so excited... Thanks for any tips you might have!

I cannot remember the start time, but I know we got there 20 minutes early and waited near the entrance gate. We stopped at the food court and got some treats and ate while we waited! It was very cute and my DS6 enjoyed himself! I think the first session started at 11:30. Just ask a CM at the Land Pavillon doors and they can tell you the times.

It's in the Land at Epcot in between Soarin' and the food. I think it went till 4 or 5 pm - We happen to be there and it was starting in a few, my daughter watched but didn't particapate - She got a Chef's hat and cookie though

This was so much fun! We were eating lunch at Seasons and I wandered over to look at the times and it was just about to start. The day we were there it didn't start until 1 p.m. There were about 8 kids. DD, 4, was the youngest (they line them up from oldest to youngest). She got to dump the chips in the bowl. It lasted about 1/2 hour and the guy who did it was a blast. DD had so much fun and loved the "magic" oven. Each child got a hat and two cookies. It was a great free event that was a nice break from the hectic parks!

How old are the kids who do this? My boys are 11 and 9 years old...do you think they would be too old?

Thanks,

Loralie

The kids with us were 8,7 & 4 and it was WONDERFUL, they had a GREAT time, make sure you get in line early, it fills up fast, I think they only take 20 kids, the woman chef had a BLAST with my little guy who was 4

i believe the ages are 4-11. When I was there in Oct the last class was I believe 2. My ds who is 5 loved it.

We just did this last month. We were there about 20 minutes early. We have two girls, 6 and 2. The youngest age to participate is 4, it was explained to me that this is for safety reasons. They stand on stools during the cooking process and the little ones get so excited they are afraid that anyone younger than 4 would fall off/accidently get pushed off. But they did give my 2 year old a chef's hat anyway, and gave her a cookie when they were done. We had a good time watching, and bought our own cookies and milk to nibble on during the time. I remember it lasting about a 1/2 hour. I believe they don't take more than 15 or 16 kids at the most, and our session was full (this was during the food and wine festival, so Epcot was busy). There were kids turned away. My 6 year old daughter had a great time and enjoyed making the cookies. There are two cast members in charge, and they had a great attitude and a lot of patience. It's funny because the cookies are quite interesting as you can imagine when they go on the pan, and then when they come out of the oven, they are perfectly round. The CMs joked it was because it was a "magic oven" that fixes everything!
:cat:

I forgot to add we were the last session that day, and I thought it was 4:30. The sign there lists all the times, but I am sure you could also find out at GR or the Land pavillion.

Thanks,

Our kids did it when they were 9 and 7. 9 year old daughter did not enjoy it, 7 year old son did. We are going back soon and at 11 and 9 years old now, neither wants to do it. Apparently it is not cool anymore... ;)
