Later this month we will be traveling from the St. Louis area to the New York City area, Boston area and Canadian side of Niagara Falls. I have looked high and low to get the answers to the following questions. AAA gave me a Trip Tik but they don't have information about toll costs or train costs.

1. Is there a website I can go to in order to find out how much tolls will cost?

2. Is there a website I can go to in order to find out about taking a train from near our hotel in New Jersey to Penn Station in NYC? And find out if there is parking near the station?

3. Where do we purchase tickets to take a train from New Jersey to Penn Station?

Any help or tips would be appreciated.

1. Not sure on that but if there is I'd love to know it.
2. Try a combo of Google maps (instead of the car option there is a button you can click for public transport) and this www.njtransit.com
3. You can also use that website to see exactly where to purchase tickets (depends on which train station you are at)

Call the hotel in nj and see what they are near and if they have a shuttle.
If it is near the path train I think the fare is 2.25 but they sell multiple trip carps for 1.90 a trip 10 20 etc trips. However you need to purchase a card for 5.00 or the sell a card in the same multiples only at Hudson news in Newark penn station or the Hoboken stops without the 5.00 fee. NJT will cost 5.00 per person each way from Newark further out more... If it is secacus it is less I think around 3.00... Parking sure there is parking $$$$$$$ and the toll no matter which way is 13.00 into NY back is free unless you are further out and in NJ and go through Staten Island then it is another 13.00 on the way back.
Hope this answers some of the questions that you likely now do not want to know...
Do not forget about the NY subway or Taxi once you get to NYC....
I can also tell y,ou tolls up to Niagra falls are going to run you another 30.00 from NJ from NY you can add more for the bridges.
There is parking near Newark penn station it is like 16.00 a day... You can see if you are close to the Newport mall and park there for free like you are going to the mall..... And take the path train...
All NJT train tickets must be bought at the station they have machines otherwise there is a 5 surcharge per ticket on the train...

Thank you!! Our NJ hotel said we would have to take a taxi to the train station. She also said the Newport Mall was 20-30 minutes away. Sounds like the mall is our best bet.

While in NYC we are using the hop on/hop off buses through Gray Line. If we have to go somewhere they don't, we will take advantage of subway or taxi's.

I've always heard that the tolls in the Northeast are costly, but $30 to Niagara Falls is a little more than I had bargained for. It's not a deal breaker.
