So last night I was able to upgrade from POP to WL :yay:

I called ME this morning (as I already received my luggage tags for POP last week) and the woman said to just cross off POP from the luggage tag and write Wilderness Lodge over it...

Im just a little worried about this ....do you think I should call and say my luggage tags got "lost" and have them send me new ones? Or should I just pull out the old sharpie? The lady was adamant that I didn't need new tags....what do you think???:confused3

I had a similar issue last year. Hand-correcting worked fine and the bag arrived safely in my room as usual. I also mentioned it as I checked in at ME in Orlando (just as an extra alert).

The BAR CODE has your reservation number encoded. So when they scan the tag, as long as your ressie # didn't change, it will indicate where you are staying.

Not at all sketchy information...it worked for us without any problems:thumbsup2

Yep, they don't worry about what it says, it is the BAR CODE that holds all of the information for the ME folks. They scan the bar code and pull up all the info they need. Now, if you had changed reservation numbers, such as canceling and rebooking, then new tags would be in order.

Thanks everyone!! That makes me feel better...I was really worried about hand correcting...but as long as everyone else has had good luck with this I will just keep the tags I have

DME has been around for 4.5 years so far, and in all that time, here on the DIS we've never ... EVER ... read a post saying they did it this way and things got messed up. Not once.:goodvibes
