Has anyone been able to use their points for rooms there and if so how far in advance were you able to make reservations?

Don't know about the points questions but DsneySea in Tokyo was a super park when we visited.

I'm thinking you can only make reservations 6 months in advance, but I can't find anything in my most recent planner to confirm this.:confused3

I looked up the 2007-2008 Vacation Planner, page 34. You can reserve from 6 mos to 14 days before check-in. Be sure to know the penalty rules. Hotel MiraCosta at DisneySea takes up to 71 pts/night. We didn't want to part with our points at that rate, so stayed at a Disney partner hotel. It worked out great. Not sure if I can post that hotel link here. If you would like to know, send me a PM. We love DisneySea. Have a great trip!

We usually do a WDW trip every year form a day or two afetr Christmas through NYE and teh first few days of Jan (this year 12/27 - 1/5 part offsite at Vistana and part at AKL)

For 2008-2009 we are planning a trip to Japan instead both DD and DS are huge Anime fans and will flip when they find out. I want to stay at least 1 or 2 nights at or near Disney (we will have 5 nights at a Sheraton or Westin in Tokyo likely but could be at any of their hotels in Japan at my discretion using my SVN points so 6 or 7 nights in all [still need school calendar dates to make final plans])

I would love any information and or tips others might have available regarding Hotels at or near Tokyo DisneyLand - or general Japan travel links etc for that matter TIA

Thanks HowGrumpy! I just sent you a pm...:thumbsup2

I forgot to ask, how many days would you recommend to see both parks?

thanks!

We only had time to spend 1 day at each park which was not enough time. Plan on spending min 2 days at each park. DisneySea is an incredible park with great shows and rides, allow at least 2 days there. DL Tokyo is about the same as Magic Kingdom and Disneyland, but still different. You may be able to do it in 1 day, but 2 would be better. It also depends on what month you're going, park hours and the crowd level.

boscoj and kend58, replied to your PMs.

I need to look at the park information I can find and figure out how far away the various items we want to do are I am hoping we can make our trip 7 to 9 days overall with 3 or 4 for Disney and 5 or 6 for city tours in Tokyo tourng and day trips on train etc. Not sure yet on school schedules so still unsure how long we will have (min 7 maybe as long as 11 days). I think it would take months to go and "see" Japan but I am hoping seeing Tokyo, a couple of train-day trips and a few Disney days works in a 7 to 9 day itinerary as that is my most likely length for this trip.
