Has anyone done both of these and can compare them for me? We've done Teppan Edo but reservations for Tokyo Dining are easier to get....and they take TIW. What do you think?

We have done both, and enjoy both. Teppan Edo of course is the traditional hibachi style, always good, but the food and the view at Tokyo dining is also amazing. We've had several things, but the bento box and the sushi stand out in my memory. Looking out the great windows onto the lake is an amazing view. Think you will have an awesome time at either place!

One thing I'm concerned about is that we aren't sushi eaters. What do you recommend on the menu? Are there hibachi style entrees that my teenager's might like?

I love the hibachi chefs - that is always part of the experience, to see them flip the food around in front of you. I've found I can get decent sushi just about anywhere but a good hibachi chef is worth the (often considerable) tab. I booked this for my BF's birthday dinner our first night in Disney - he's never been to one before and I can't wait for him to see it.

If you're not a sushi eater then I've found you can usually get something like a Chicken or BeefTeriyaki bento box (which will often give you rice, vegetable, a california roll and/or sashimi, and maybe a salad). When we go out for sushi my 8 yr old gets Chicken Katsu (which is basically a breaded chicken breast). Another choice she likes is Beef Negimaki (which is beef and scallions). The Vegetable or Shrimp Tempura are good.

We ate at Tokyo Dining last Sept. and enjoyed our meal very much! We lucked out and got a corner window seat about 15 min. before Illuminations. It was a great location.:cloud9:

I usually get the Tempura at Tokyo Dining. I don't usually do Sushi either. I think they also have Teryiaki options as well.

Lots of tempura varieties, sure that there would be something that he would like!

Menu Tokyo Dining

Hey Ms. Kaybird,
I grew up right next to you in Derby. Thanks for the advice on Tokoyo. We waivered on this one too. Worried about portion sizes with my teenaged boys who seem to have hollow legs where they keep putting away the groceries!
