Anyone else love this? So pretty inside and the food is excellent!

Fantastic sushi!

We cancelled lunch somewhere else to go back twice - got tables on those big windows looking out to WS both times. How have I never noticed it before? Is it new?

We thought it was great as well. It is newer- I believe it just opened when they completed the refurb sometime back at the end of last year. THey refurbed Teppen Edo and Tokyo Dining (or rather the restaurants that were there previously). I thought the sushi was very good, service was so nice and polite and they were great with our kids. Everything was nice and fresh. I read a review of someone who said they didn't like the sushi there (didn't think it was fresh) and I was surprised, I like good sushi and thought theirs was on par.

Do you think it is better than Yakitori house? We usually just go there - but I may have to try Tokyo Dining if it is worth it.

Tokyo dining is pretty modern. We were talking to our server and she said it is very much like a modern restaurant in Tokyo. It is bright and pretty inside and the menu is great for me (I'm a vegetarian).

My husband is pretty much a sushi snob, and he thought it was fresh and very good. He loves sashimi so it is really important to him that it is fresh.

Ok, I've been confused on the new Japan restaurants. Is Tokyo Dining like what use to be the lounge like restaurant? We went there once for sushi and tempura shrimp for dh. Do they still have the other restaurant where the chefs cook in front of you too?

Subbing - am curious too about Tokyo dining. I like real Japanese food and like sashimi as well....

I was a bit confused too. I think they have kind of redone the area up there recently, but I don't know how recently.

They still have the hibachi restaurant, but on the other side, nearer WS is a separate restaurant called Tokyo Dining. It does kind of have the look of a cool lounge.

Teppan Edo is the teppanaki side where they prepare the food in front of you. We have adr's at Tokyo Dining and I can't wait. Those of you that tried the sushi what did you get?

My husband got about 8 different things! The first time we went he got some kind of sampler and the second he just got a bunch different kinds of sashimi.

I got a kind of vegetable cakes and a tofu salad - both yummyrific!!! :thumbsup2

I saw a veggie croquette on the kids menu. I'm assuming that's what you meant by vegetable cake? If so, can you describe? Are they like egg foo young maybe?:confused3

And does anyone know how to do the different sushi combos on DDP? I saw the pics from this restuarant on another thread. They look sooo gooood!

we always went there before the refurb - loved the sushi, the view, the cool, dark, quietness of the place - will go back again next trip!

Yes that's it! I forgot what they were called. But they are more like potato pancakes - think ones with vegetables. Really good!

:goodvibes :lovestruc Toyko Dining!!!
from the warm towels to all the bowing and friendly & attentive wait staff  but not too much attention!! it was just right.
we went for anniversary in Feb and they made such a big deal over the celebration!
food was awesome- almost too much food-
Sushi was great!and the sake went very well with the meal!
they brought us out a free chocolate ginger cake dessert to share and again made a big deal over our anniversary.

:goodvibes We have ADRs in May for Tepan Edo but maybe we'll try Tokyo Dining instead. (or both!)

I forgot about the sake! My husband had 3 of them and then went on Soarin' - said it was way more fun with a sake buzz! ;)

I was happy all thru the rest of the evening- waiting in line and the bus ride back to the resort didn't bother me at all! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Was also curious if anyone had been to Teppan Do / Tokyo Dining as well as Yakatori House and how they compare...thanks!

LOVE IT!!! I loved the older restaurant even though it was dark and dated inside and now after they fixed it up I can't get enough of it.

I went there in December (myself, cousin, his wife and 2 kids), showed up without ADRs and were seated within 5 minutes (it was right when the restaurant opened for the day around 11:30am or so). Me and my cousin shared two rolls. We like spicy so we just asked them to bring over what they liked that was hot and good! Both were YUMMY:worship:

This time we have a dinner ADR for July!!
