Tokyo Dining and Illuminations

I just realized that we have our New Years Eve ADR at 7:00, and the first round of Illuminations is at 7:30. Are there windows that we can request seating next to? Will we be able to see the fireworks? Are they the same fireworks at 7:30 as 11:40? Can you tell I'm excited?

There are windows in Tokoyo Dining and you definitely can ask to be seated near one. However, there is a balcony outside the windows and people do stand up there to watch Illuminations, so I suspect that the view fromt he tables may be obstructed. I have not been seated here during Illuminations, so it is my opinion, not an absolute fact.
You will love Illuminations, it is much more than just fireworks. It is music and lasers and fire and fireworks, it is awesome

The balcony outside is a step or two down, so if you are seated by the window your view won't be obstructed by heads unless there's a really tall person, but may be blocked slightly by a tree or two. FYI they do not dim the lights or pipe in the music, but it's still cool to watch.

My experience has been that most people stay put if they are near Illuminations time so the tables don't vacate. I've had an ADR 1/2 before Illuminations and wasn't seated until they were nearly over, and not near the windows. You might want to check in early to request a window, or move your ADR to an earlier time. We are pretty much Disney veterans and I thought a 1/2 hour would be plenty of time, but I was so wrong.
