Hiya :)

Bit of a random question, I was just wondering how many of you take your toiletries with you? Or if you buy them over there?

:confused3

Ta Muchly :)

We once decided to buy them there, My DW said it was the biggest mistake it cost a lot more than UK and she couldnt get the same makes as she wanted
so now we always take our own

I buy mine there but works out better for me as I leave them in my aunts villa so they last me a long time

I buy mine out there - but I suppose it's each to their own. I just like not having to worry about excess weight or things bursting in the suitcase and just pop to WalMart when I arrive.

Depends, we generally take a small Johnson's Baby Powder, a few washing up tablets, toothbrushes, our own cologne/perfume, after shave balm, Imperial Leather foam shower gel and maybe a few other smaller items.

Hair shampoo/conditioner, sun lotion and heavier items we buy out there.

I take everything - my hair would be a right state if I couldn't get my shampoo and conditioner! Plus I don't like the pressure of having to run out the first day to buy stuff!

This year we are going to only take the items I use that I am not sure they sell and buy the rest out there. In the past though I have always taken everything.

I do the same, except I do take the shampoo, etc. I dont mind the extra weight on the way there, but I leave them there so I don't have the extra weight on the way back. I also take washing up liquid decanted into a small container that seals properly for washing refillable mugs in the room as we stay onsite. However I make sure that I have half full bottles when I leave, knowing I won't bring them back with me. I prefer my own brands.

depends how long we are going for. Easter is only a 12 nighter so will take with us as we take less luggage. August will be 25 nights so buy as much as poss out there to save space.

Thank You for all your responses. I think i'm going to buy things like shampoo and conditioner, shower gel over there. But everything else i'll get over here.:goodvibes

Took our own last year. If we have stuff in the bathroom will do the same :)
Otherwise we will probably buy out there :)

i just use the resorts , soap shampoo conditioner etc as its soooo good, Dw buys her shampoo and conditioner there, but uses resorts soap and shower gel etc

We never bring any home either, most of the toileteries we take are smaller versions, ie 30 ml cologne , plenty for the holiday but little left to justify packing it for the journey home.

Never take shampoo, sun cream, plenty of choice out there and saves weight in the cases. We prefer Australian gold sun cream anyway, which is available at Publix.

I take my own, and always take LOADS, lol. Jack always tuts when I pack.

But I don't bring it home, so it means we have a lot of space, and weight available for the journey back.

That being said the soap/shampoo etc in AKL was very lovely.

EDIT to add: If I ever go and stay offsite (highly. highly unlikely) and have a car, so would be grocery shopping anyway, I would probably not pack any toiletries as I do like the American stuff.

I generally take my own but just leave it out there once done!

I'm one of these fussy people who likes to use the same shampoo/condition etc. all the time.

ScottishGirl87, I think we have a similar mind when travelling! Like you, I also prefer my own brands, but I leave them there to accommodate all the purchases on the home-bound trip!

I always take my own, I'm really fussy about what type of shampoo I use, and have sensitive skin and I find a lot of hotel showergels dry my skin out.

Again, like others I dont bring it back though.

This year I ordered some bubble bath with my garden grocer order so I could have some nice long baths to relaxe my weary feet!:rotfl:

Another take all my own stuff but don't take the heavy items back - extra weight i can use with my souvenirs!

For me, it would be quite a lot of pressure to find everything you want as soon as you arrive, and I would hate to waste any time in Disney searching for deodrant, a decent shampoo and any other neccessities.
