Okay so we are headed down in 43 days, so I want to go ahead and start getting stuff together. I know most hotels provide little shampoos and soaps. Do you all use these (if disney provides...we will be at ASSports) or do you bring your own? There will be 4 of us. I know I am going to bring toddler shampoo since the other stuff isnt tear free.

Also what are some things that you all packed thinking you would use that you didnt use? I'm really bad at over packing, but we have always driven everywhere. This time we are flying and I obviously cant over pack.

I packed my own toiletries and I am shipping them down for us. I am also shipping down things like tylenol, advil, bandaids, newskin, holloween costumes, kids clothes and gifts. That way we can just use carry ons.

I am going to try to use trial size products except for the ones everyone uses. Body was, shampoos, sun lotion.... I has to fly so I am trying to down size. Also packing for 4 (1 adult and 3 children) cna be challenging when everyone has their own likes. I think some sort of advil/motirn is important as is bandaids. We are going in November so I will be bringing cough meds too just in case, for the kids. Bring wipes for the park and anti bacterial lotion for times when water is not accessable.

We just got back from ASSp! We were provided with mickey bars of soap and a small travel size shampoo/conditioner bottle. I noticed that when we used the saop/shampoo we were left a few of them the next day so you could probably get away with leaving those items at home if you wanted to pack light.

As far as over packing - try packing clothes in ziploc bags it really cuts down on the extra clothing items!

I would consider the little trial packs for sure, they are really cheap.

Sunscreen (very expensive to buy there) and aloe vera (just in case)

I brought clothespins (I know that is not a toiletry but thought I'd mention. They were helpful for everything from closing the snack bags I brought, to securing the bathing suits while they dried on the "string" thing in the shower to securing a rain poncho to my childs stroller during a brief storm.

Instead of buying the travel sizes, ask friends if they have hotel shampoos sitting around, pretty much everyone does. I just empty out the hotel brand and fill it with my own stuff making sure I know which is shampoo and which is conditioner. Our local dentist gives freebie toothpaste in the small sizes. I use an old aspirin bottle for all our meds so they are all in the same place (but does involve some digging for exactly what you need).

Shout stain wipes

You probably already have antibacterial soap and wipes in your diaper bag.

I only brought my "necessary" makeup (vs my entire makeup bag) and my skin care products. A couple razors and trial size shaving cream that dh and I shared (we didn't share razors, just the shaving cream).

Don't bring a hair dryer, Im pretty sure all the hotels have them. I left most of my hair stuff at home since I didn't need gel or hairspray, I was pretty casual the whole time.

I packed each outfit in a gallon sized ziploc so we didn't overpack. I had one for each day. I could fit dh and mine in one and the kids in another so they just pulled it out and wore it with no hemming or hawing over what to wear. The bags came in handy to hold ice and bottled water that we brought into the park.

Just make sure you have plenty of diapers! Those are expensive too. And swim diapers! They WAY overcharge!

Have a great time!

I've cut down on over packing clothing by having matching shirts each day...LOL. We will only be bringing about 1-2xtra shirts per child maybe, and then a nice shirt for us when we go out on our date.

This is what I'm thinking of taking right now for toiletries (etc)...

Travel Razors (2)
Travel Size Shaving cream
Smaller Shampoo/Conditioner (I couldnt find travel size of mine, but I found small bottles).
Straightener (because I've got super curly hair that is hard to control in humidity)
Travel hairspray
Kids toothpaste/brushes
Kids shampoo
Adult toothpaste/brushes
Antiperspirant
needed meds
Sunscreen/Aloe (I found travel aloe on sale)
travel size Downy Wrinkle Releaser
and 1thing of cream to powder foundation and 1 eyeshadow combo w/ lipgloss (got to look good on our date).

i'm shipping diapers/wipes/meds still in the box (cold meds)/decorations/snacks down
