Last Disney trip the only "thrill" ride my toddler could do was Barnstormer. He didn't cry or anything but didn't love it (we asked if he wanted to do it again and he said no).

This year (1 year later) he will be over 40 inches for the trip and can do rides like 7DMT, splash mountain, soarin, etc. (We will still avoid ToT and dinosaur most likely).

Question is - have any of your kids changed their attitudes toward riding as they got older and met the height requirement and enjoyed the rides? I'm not sure what fastpasses to book because I don't want to scare him, but if he ends up enjoying 7DMT would like to try him on Splash and so on.

PS - he will be 4 (almost 5) next trip, was 3 (almost 4) the last one.

Oh, Disney with preschoolers! I remember it well!

My son's first trip, he was scared of everything and was too small to ride a lot of things. But by the second trip, a whole world of options had opened up to him!
He loved Soarin' and Splash Mountain. Big Thunder was a little too intense at the time and I felt that he was too small, even though his height was correct. (Riding with Mom, I felt that the safety bar just didn't go down far enough!)

We watched a lot of YouTube videos of rides, and he was really interested when there was a story associated with the ride (like Splash Mountain). Through the videos, we could also point out things for him to look for in the rides. That made it more familiar to him if he felt unsure.

Hope that helps! Have a great time!

I think my son might like this now too! He loves anything with race cars/trucks/etc. Thanks for posting!
