What do you do for your toddlers who get wet in the parks...i.e., Pooh's Playful Spot, Donald's Boat, and other little fountains? Do you bring a bathing suit or a change of clothes? Do you take a towel? What works best for you? Trying to figure out what we need without overpacking our diaper bag. Thanks in advance!

when we go it is usually so hot outside that they are dry in about 10 minutes..LOL I don't let them get drenched though!!

Swimsuit and a swimmer's chamois, always. Oh, and waterproof shoes that they just wear all day. Take the street clothes off, put them in a suit, and then after they get their soaking, dry them off with the chamois. Take along a couple of clothespins or binder clips, and you can clip the suit and chamois to the stroller canopy so they can dry in the sun without blowing away.

I just let them get drenched and have a good time....then i put them in their 'extra outfit'.

Mine weren't toddlers so I didnt have to deal with diapers, but I had them wear bikini bathing suits under their clothes. Made it easier for them to go to the bathroom. We carried a couple of ziploc bags with clean undies and a towel in the backpack. After they got wet we could go into the bathroom and change, putting the wet swimsuit into the ziplock bag.

We are another family who just lets them get wet. If we were going to be playing in the water for a while, I would change them, but for 10-15 minutes their clothes can dry.

That bikini bathing suit idea is wonderful! Thanks! I think I'll be using that one.

Just a tip - try to let the clothes dry out a bit before putting them back in the ziploc - or at least, do better than we did on the last trip and don't forget about them for a couple of days after they were WET and HOT .... yuck!!!! :-) :-)

Swim diapers and a hand towel (smaller than a beach towel and does a good enough job)

Whether we plan for DS to get wet or not we always bring a change of clothes in a ziplock and if clothes get wet can swap them out.

In the morning The kids have their suits on UNDER their clothes with a swim diaper on. (disposable ones) and it never fails that they usually hit the water spots first! Then we also bring an extra change of clothes :)

I read somewhere that instead of a regular towel you can use a pack towel (Like you would use on a camping trip.) They feel like felt and fold smaller that a regular towel.

No, they dry FAST!

While you're there, YOU may want to stick your head under the water sprays as well. Feels nice on a HOT day!

my dh "let" my (2yr old) ds play in donald's boat area. I normally would'nt have a problem with this, but we were minutes away from leaving to our lunch ressies at WCC :scared1: He was soaked, but he dried pretty quick on the boat ride over - hot in July :cool2:
I would use the swimmie diapers if I were to do again !

my girls are 4 and 2 and as many times as we have been to WDW....we've never "expereinced" the fountains, and for my sanity, I hope to keep it that way! :) (bribe with the much cooler pool at the resort!!)

Last year DS was still in pull-ups, they seem to work just like the swimmers. I always have a change of clothes, and a receiving blanket (it's thin but big). Worked out great and he had a ball playing at Epcot! Just a note, he didn't start playing in the water until the sun was starting to set, so there was no drying out ;) jen

Another tip -- it was hot in September when we went. We wrapped the towel around a water bottle we had kept in our fridge. The towel kept the water bottle cool so mid way through the day, after the girls got wet we used the towel and had a coolish water bottle to drink.

Just remember, swimmie diapers do not hold urine......Besides swimming/wet situations, they are almost useless.
