Does anyone know what type of seat do you get if you rent a "toddler" seat from the rental car agencies? It is a booster seat that the seat belt goes through or a full fledge car seat with the 5 point harness? I am taking a rather large 5 year old and I know that the florida laws state that they don't need any type of car seat but I was thinking of renting one anyway.

I would just bring one of the simple--just the seat ones with you. You can carry it on and just throw it in the overhead bin on the plane. They will charge you more to rent one than you could buy one for. The kind I am talking about are around $20 or so. You'll probably pay $10/day to rent one.

Thanks - that I was thinking - even if I buy one it cost around 25 for the booster seat - renting one will cost around 96 for 8 days I am there. I will just take one with me.
