Toddler itinerary critique - help me! last minute panic!

go to AK on arrival day...very close to AoA, FP the safari, tough to be a bug, play at the huge climbing slide area the boneyard, that is good for an early night!

i think my son's 4 am wake up this morning is telling me that he wants to use the EMH :badpc:
Yay for GF! Have a blast!

yikes thats early... and won't go back to sleep? yikes. mine was up 1:30, 5:30, and up for the day at 8:30. shes cutting her 2nd tooth so she stopped sleeping through the night. emh at mk are great, but we also did AK and dis tough to be a bug (dd2 loved it) and safari.

yep. when he's up he's up. and then there was no heat at his school this morning so he got a day off from day care...

I really wanted to go to the parks on our arrival day, but after 2 days couped up in the car (not sure how you are arriving), by the time we got to the resort, we didn't want to be in moving transportation again for awhile. We stayed at the resort and checked it all out. It was pretty neat. We were well rested the next morning for our early morning ADR.

Thanks to everyone's stellar advice, here's the plan (FPs changed and all)

Arrive Sunday, Oct. 25 4 am wake up, arrive ~11 at AoA, have lunch at Landscapes of Flavor, skip nap, head to AK from post lunch - early dinner, super early bedtime

Monday, Oct. 26 (Happy 30th me!)
Original plan tour MK with EMH and do ADR at BOG at 1130, back to resort for nap, then we have an ADR at Boma
stuck w/ this, because I want to be in MK on my birthday.

Tuesday, Oct. 27 - MK w/ 8 am CP breakfast - this is set in stone, FP+ all good, etc.

Weds, Oct. 28
Epcot! + pool and nap

Thurs, Oct. 29
- MK w/ 8:15 am BoG breakfast - we're good here.

Now, since Thursday is our last day and we don't have to wake up early for our flight Friday, and we have hoppers, which would you keep your kid awake to see?
Fantasmic? has the advantage of not being TOO late
Illuminations?

I didn't read all the responses, but I see that you got a proper explanation of child swap. The best time to do it is while they are napping (if you son will nap in the stroller that is). We took DS at 2 and he LOVED AoA, we did a split stay there with AKL too. You will have so much fun! Do you have a park hopper? DHS was the park we spent the least amount of time in on that trip, but it is the only spot that he can meet the "real" Lightning and Mater and that was pretty awesome for him. In the AK Ds loved the Nemo show, the Lion King Show, and the Flights of Wonder. He also liked the safari and walking the trails (although he fell asleep in the stroller at one point). Have fun and enjoy him. 2 is such a fun age at Disney, I am tearing up just thinking about it!

We decided to skip any and all EMH's this trip with our little guy because the parks that generally have them are more crowded on those days. I found it easier to get a pre park breakfast and just start my day early in each park. We also went with the plan to only do what my little guy could easily tolerate, so we missed a few things we planned and still had a great time. Don't panic and have a great trip!

That idea is looking better and better... LO gets up early, but the idea of getting in line for a bus at 630 to make it to RD at MK on an EMH is sounding yuckier by the minute.

Well, y'all, I did it. i am not going to MK on Monday. We are going to MK on Sunday, AK on Monday, MK on Tues/Thurs and Epcot on Weds. My FP+ is all a mess, but it's still better this way because of crowd levels. I got a late lunch Sunday at BOG and cancelled the Monday BOG lunch.

I am only mentioning this since you said you have park hoppers. If you decide to check out Hollywood Studios for half a day, in addition to meeting the Cars characters there, it is also the place to see Disney Jr on Stage. If your son has see the shows on that channel like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates, he will enjoy it. Our 2 yr old LOVED that show at Disneyland, and it is the same script as WDW.

We have that as a maybe on Thursday!! We might go just walk around and get in line for fantasmic if we are feeling up to it!

We have found that if lo falls asleep in the stroller we would ride rides lo is not tall enough for. Ak shows the lion king and Nemo my three liked 3 under 3 the last time we went. Hs they liked the toy story and beauty and the beast. Epcot they liked going to each country and getting a stamp and coloring. Spent many days in mk. They kept riding dumbo, whinnie the pooh and Peter Pan. We felt like the time lost to ride the bus to take a nap wasn't worth it. We had dinner plans every night between 5-6. So by leaving the parks after lunch it would be close to 1 and then get lo to nap and get to dinner when it's all said and done lo would get about 30 min to truly nap at the resort. Much easier to nap in stroller and see more of the parks. Hope you have a great time
