Toddler in Hotel

Any other recommendations when it comes to bringing a toddler to a hotel?

Should I spray the whole thing down with lysol?

What about the tub situation? Kind of grossed out at the idea of having him sit in a hotel tub. I would love to try to get him used to standing in the shower (once he's able to stand on his own) but I'm not sure how well that will go over with him.

I'm sure it depends on the hotel, but the bathtubs at Embassy Suites have been so pristine that I have had no problem letting her in comfortably. I always bring some antibacterial wipes with me and give things a wipe down if need be. I tend to wipe or wash hands a lot the whole trip, whether we're in the hotel or in the parks, because there are just so many people to share germs.

I'm wondering where you're staying that charges for a crib. I've stayed many places, and at each and every one where we've requested a crib we've gotten one at no extra charge. This includes places which we opaque booked on Priceline. Typically it had to be brought in, and we might have slipped housekeeping $1 or $2 for delivering it. And on top of that there might be a package with baby toiletries like baby powder or baby shampoo, and rubber duck.

The crib itself might vary though. At one place it was just a Graco Port-A-Crib, which is just commercial version of a Graco Pack N Play.

When my kids were younger, I wiped down all the hard surfaces and the remote with clorox wipes.

We used a pack n play when they were smaller. Now that they are 4 & 6 usually one sleeps with me in a bed and the other with DH in a bed.

For the tub, I brought our non slip mat from home. Now that they are older, I don't bring that anymore.

We are staying at the Desert Inn. I emailed them a while back to ask and was told $10 a night.

We got a pack and play and the kids slept in that when we traveled when they were toddlers.

I even used it at home just to corral them sometimes - especially my oldest who was a runner.

Yeah, we actually own two Pack n Plays. One in our family room and one in our bedroom. He never sleeps in them but it's a safe place to put him when I need to shower or get something done.

You can bring Lysol-type wipes if you want (Lysol spray would be harder, since you can't take it in a full-size can on the plane)... When we stayed at a hotel when DD was that age, I think I just used a baby wipe on whatever she would be touching.

As far as showering/bathing baby, I've got this one down to a science after 2 toddlers and now grandbabies, LOL! I hop in the shower, get my washing done, shampoo, and put a deep conditioner in my hair. Then whatever other adult is with me brings me the baby/toddler in question. I hold them on my hip, wash everything I can reach, flip them to my other hip and wash everything I can reach. Then hold the baby under their armpits, and rinse their body. Have your adult helper wash baby's diaper area while you're holding them up still, rinse again, and hand baby over to your helper, who has Baby's towel at the ready. Rinse conditioner from your hair, and --voila!-- mama and baby all clean without baby ever touching the ground! Now, if you weren't taking your DH, then I'd recommend just putting baby on a towel in the tub while you showered. But if he's there to help, then it's a lot easier!
