I live in SoCal and have been to Disneyland over 10x as a single person. Now that I'm married with kids we want to see the other half of Disneyland...

I know my DD enjoyed It's a Small World at WDW when she was 10 mos old but am unsure what is going to interest her now at 2yo. She is fearless and would ride the big rides if she could.

She is obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so a trip to Toontown is definitely in order.

I doubt we'll be at the park after dark.

Which shows are good there for LOs?

Thanks!

I'm not sure from your post if you're planning on both Disneyland and DCA or just Disneyland. DH and I didn't start taking our kids until the younger was 3, but my brother and his wife took their 16 month old daughter for the first time last month. Even though they were there during the heat wave, they had a blast. Their DD is also pretty fearless. She wanted to meet every character, hug them, get pictures, etc. They went to a character meal at Plaza Inn to maximize their character meeting opportunities, but even if you don't want to do this you should be able to meet plenty of traditional characters by going to ToonTown for Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc. and Critter Country for the Winnie the Pooh characters and a few others. Characters also come out on Main Street throughout the day and in the hub and Hollywood Pictures backlot areas of DCA. One of the highlights of my niece's trip was definitely characters. She also rode everything for which there were no height restrictions and was fine with dark rides, "scary" rides, whatever. I think IASW and Winnie the Pooh were favorites. My niece also really likes music and likes to dance to it whenever she hears it. If your little ones are like that, then the parade in either park is something good to see. DCA also has a high school musical type show and will continue to offer something similar to it. Playhouse Disney is another good show in DCA for little ones. I think it might currently even feature a Mickey's Clubhouse segment.

She would LOVE the playhouse disney show at DCA. And any dark ride she can go on is probably fine (as well as the outside rides like the tea cups, dumbo, carousels, etc). And if she's tall enough (I think ony 32"), autopia would be a huge hit at that age. My ds1's favorite dark ride at 3 was Mr. Toad's wild ride, he loved the steering wheels and the crazy driving!

When my youngest was 2 yrs, 3 months old, she was just barely tall enough for Matterhorn and Gadget's Go Coaster. The height requirement for both is 35". :goodvibes

Mine too! And she loved them both!

I 2nd the Playhouse Disney show at DCA and the Pixar Parade too.

My oldest daughter was 2 when we went last year and she LOVED the parades! She was happy to do the dancing in the street and play the drum at the Celebrate! Parade. We didn't do any of the other sit-down shows, but the parades were fantastic. I hope she likes them just as much this year :)

I have a DS (2) and he's built like Hercules. His first time will be next month, our must do's for him are Playhouse Disney, The Jungle Cruise, IASW holiday, HMH, and Tom Saywer Island. Of couse I want to take him on Winnie the Pooh, Tarzans Treehouse, POTC, and all of Fantasyland.

Wow this is great info! Thanks so much.

I am so used to just doing Big Thunder Mtn, Indy, Space, etc. I know there is so much more to the parks but am clueless.

We will definitely do Playhouse Disney. She'd lose her mind for it!

We just got back and my 2yr old did not like Gadget's Go Coaster. She is a dare devil also and I thought she would love it but no poor thing screamed the entire ride. She did love Playhouse Disney and all of the FL rides. So it just depends on the child and follow their lead. Have a great time nothing like seeing Disney through your child's eyes.

You can child swap so you can ride those rides too!
