OK I am really confused and need help. I just bought the ipod touch today at TRU and got the $25 gift card which I then used to buy an ipod charger/speaker/clock. I thought the iphone was coming out today. What actually is out today...the iphone or the ipod touch? If the new ipod touch is going to be $199 then this one is going back.

The "new" ipod touch isn't an upgrade, they are offering a new casing color (white), but internally speaking it's the same as the current ipod touch and both will be able to update to the new iOS when it's released.

As far as the iphone 4s, I think it's kind of a wasted upgrade, I will for sure be waiting for the iphone 5 which rumors speculate will be coming in the spring of 2012 (these are just rumors, so take them for what they are).

I think a lot of die-hard apple fans were thinking the 4s was about all that was coming, but hoping that apple would step-up with a redesigned iphone 5 (which obviously didn't happen). Since my iphone works perfectly well and I don't see anything in the 4s that I can't live without, I'm gonna hold off for the next release hoping it'll be a completely redesigned phone with stepped-up features.

Why would they be disappointed? It's just not going to be called the 5. It's the 4S. What difference would the name make?

I was responding to mrudman's post which stated that the announced product was a white ipod touch.

And yes, if the only thing that Apple came out with at this new conference was an ipod touch with a white case, then yes, it would have been a GREAT disappointment.

Very disappointed they didn't upgrade the camera on the Touch,

Might go ahead and get the new one for dd anyway, since it's the same price as the old one.

But wish it would've gotten some new features.
