DD's 8th bday is today and I am surprising her with the news of our Disney World trip. The last time we went was when she was 4. She's been begging to go, so I booked a trip in April when they announced the free dining. I CANNOT believe I have kept it a secret for so long.

I just got through typing up her invitation to come to Disney from The Fairy Godmother. She is also getting a Cinderella nightgown, park maps, the planning DVD, a princess book, and some Disney dollars.

Just had to share because I'm so excited that I can finally start talking about it with her!

How exciting! Be sure to capture the look on her face!! When will you go? We aren't telling our DS7 and DD4 until the morning we leave. I can't wait to see their faces! The last time we went my parents took and treated our whole family. My son is convinced that we can't afford Disney unless Grammie and Papaw pay for it! ;) I guess he doesn't understand FREE DINING!!!!

Tell your daughter Happy Birthday. It is also my DD's (now 10) birthday today.

I don't know how anyone could keep it a secret. We went during Thanksgiving 2006. We are currently planning our trip for June 2009. I couldn't keep it a secret if I wanted to. Whenever I look at anything Disney (books, video, internet), my kids ask me when we are going, and they tell me what they will and will not ride. Plus, I love how they want to be involved with picking the hotel, which rides they want to do, where they want to eat, etc.

I know you will have a great trip so enjoy! And hopefully, you will write a trip report when you get back.

:cheer2:

These things always make me cry. I hope your DD is as excited as I am for her. Good job keeping the secret!

Oh please tell us everything about it! I wish I had the self control to surprise my DD but I'm pretty sure I'm more excited about it than she is. :lmao:

Thats awesome. Looks like our trips are very close to each other. !!

BrandyC--Happy Birthday to your daughter also!!

Thanks everyone for sharing in my excitement! DD screamed when she read the note, but I think it took her a little while to really process what it meant. About 30 minutes later she launched into a tirade about what she wanted to do when we go there. At bedtime she and DH sat and looked at the park maps for about 20 minutes. It was really sweet!

What a great surprise! Sound like you all enjoyed it as much as she did. I hope you guys have an awesome time!
