Today Was Our First Day (Surprising Trip Report)

Today was day 1 of our DL trip. It's 2:30 -- we're home for a some R&R.

We had a Magic Morning and because I couldn't get someone out of the house on time, we didn't get to the gate until 6:55 AM. We were probably the 10th group in line. We high-tailed it to Nemo -- wasn't open. So we started off in style and hit Space Mountain w/ no wait.

From Space Mountain, we did Teacups, Peter Pan, Carousel, Matterhorn, Autopia, Mr. Toad and Star Tours. The park officially opened and that land started getting busy. We thought we should head to the other lands before the park got too crowded. On our way, we were Dreamed! We received Dream Passes for both DL and DCA. We picked up hats at Mad Hatter and got right back on Space Mountain. The wait for Nemo was ridiculous and the guy said it would get a lot smaller at night, so we'll try later.

The kids are older and love rides, so we are getting the rides out of their systems before we actually "tour" which seems to be working.

So, we headed over to Frontierland and got on Thunder RR, no wait. After that, Indiana Jones which had a 10 minute wait. We used of FP to get on Haunted Mansion. We did Splash w/ a ten minute wait. We did Pirates with a 15 minute wait.

I think that's it.

We headed out of the park at 12:45, home by 1:00 and ate.

Instead of going straight back to DL after we rest, we have to go to DCA because our Dream Passes expire today. So, we're heading back, hitting the parade, going to DCA, Dream Pass rides, then back to DL for fireworks then we're going to use the rest of our Dream Passes at DL and close the place down!

All in all, we're happy w/ the crowd levels and the waits are not painful one bit. I'm glad we decided to come home at lunch because it was getting hot and people (us, too) were getting cranky. Lots of meltdowns going on.

Hey, in case you don't get those dream FPs used up-- you can use them past the expiration date. So use those unused tabs over the rest of your stay. It's an unofficial DL policy now to disregard the "Valid Only On" date, through the end of the year.

I was giving DH a ride to work this morning (NZ time) and we were talking about what time it would be in Anaheim and that the parks would be open and people would be riding POTC (our fav ride) at that very moment on the other side of the world

Where are you staying??

We rented a house near the park. It's a 15 minute walk to the park and we walk sometimes, drive others, depending on several factors. It's great for us, actually. Very quiet, comfortable, spacious, we get to bring our dogs, safe and relaxing.

Where, when and how did you get dreamed?

It was across from Space Mountain, I believe, before 8:30 AM. I told the kids to watch for people in white vests and DD13 saw them first. A woman was coming toward us as soon as we started walking toward them and said "You should go get your Dream Passes!". So, we walked up to them and they handed them over then someone came up to us and told us what they were and how they worked, etc. It was awesome!

you can use your dream passes on other days. We had no problem using the ones we got on Friday clear through yesterday!
