Just watching Karl and Lisa at Disneyland.

They are interviewing the president of Disneyland Resort and he just said that Aussies are the 2nd most visited international visitors! Any wonder they are advertising so much!

Love seeing Disneyland! They are filming from Carsland on Friday

Some good footage and also showed some of the history. Will see what the rest of the week brings.

Funny, after being there over Christmas I was thinking it looked great!:rotfl2:

Since my two DD's have only been for Christmas they have just placed a request for a non Christmas visit, I think we can count out June/July Holidays.

We were there from 8th to 24th Dec, the difference in that first week, to the week before Christmas was incredible. The first week/week and a half we were there it was almost empty, awesome! Then all of a sudden it changed and it was

Mum told me she saw that on some other news program as well, isn't it funny though, they recognise us as a huge customer base, but there are never any incentives or specials to get us over there :confused3

I was watching this morning thinking the same thing about the crowds! But I then checked the Touring Plan app and the wait times didn't seem sooo bad..!!
I'm hoping October is a bit quieter than that though!!! Interested to see how they get on in CarsLand.
When they mentioned about Aussies being the 2nd most international visitors, I also wondered why no great incentives for us to come! But then I guess we visit whether there is incentive or not, right?

I've got it set to record all week, and was a bit late for work this morning because I got distrated watching - my almost 8 year old loved seeing it as she was only 3 when she went before, so it will be like new for her this time. And my thrill seeking 3 year old was pretty impressed too when he saw Splash and Big Thunder Mountain.

I think that (and this is just my thought's, I don' know if it's the actual reason) Disney probably have some sort of contract with the Australian wholesalers for Disneyland and that is why we can't book through the DL website and why it is so expensive to book through Aussie TA's. Until that agreement date ends, then we will not get any specials, unless they are set by the Aussie wholesalers. I bet, once the agreement ends (assuming there is one), that Disney will allow us to book direct, Aussie TA's will lower their prices because they will be able to book direct and not be restricted to booking through Aussie wholesalers.

I know that one of my suppliers for my business of a product was ridiculous in price! I, for years tried to buy direct from the manufacturer, but could not because they had an agreement with my supplier that they would not supply to anyone else. Once that agreement ended, the manufacturer did not renew, so I (and other aussies) have been able to buy direct and now also have many suppliers in Australia so pricing is now competitive. It's like that for many companies, who give their product to other countries, to promote and distribute. So I bet that's the way it is with Disney and why to book through one of the Aussie wholesalers is SO expensive.

When Indiana Jones opened, wait times got to over 3 hours.
Likewise with the Nemo ride.

Lots of people wait for rides, if it is new.

I know the wait times can be ridiculous, but it' still crazy. 3 Hours  If you were only there for two or three days, you would hardly get any rides in. I'd be running for that ride first thing (like everyone else there at rope drop) to get the shortest line as possible. No way this Aussietravellers would be waiting 2.5 to 3 Hours for a ride!:sad2:

at least we can get the expedia 14 day ticket for $250 ish.....as most of us it seems spend longer than 6 days at DLR...me i'm there for 9 days in feb, cant wait, carsland looks amazing....

but this little petal is not waiting 150 mins to ride:goodvibes

I agree!

Although I dont know about not booking through DL I rang up and made my reservation over the phone cause I wanted to ask some questions. I didnt have to go through the aus TA.. Maybe something has changed in 6 months.....:confused3

We can book DL over the phone or through a US TA, we can not book on the DL website like we can with WDW or DCL. If you try to book through DL website you are directed to contact a TA in Australia. But yes, we can book over the phone :thumbsup2

I don't know the reason we can't book DL through their website, I think it's a bit strange and have come up with a conspiricy theory (which may be way off base) :rotfl2:

We booked our 09 & '10 dlr holidays from the us dlr website. Takes a few clicks to bypass the aus site. I just checked this morning and could make a booking for August no worries( I wish!) . :cheer2:

I'm going to record it for the rest of the week (I'll watch on the ninemsn website as well)

Did anybody see the reopening of California Adventure? I watched it the other day and it just looked awesome :yay:

I can't wait to get back there!

Well that throws my conspiricy theory out the door :rotfl2: I couldn't book 09 online, but thinking about it, maybe I didn't try very hard as I have a US TA.

I still think there is something with the wholesalers here and hopefully that won't be forever and many Aussies (who are not up with booking direct like we dis'ers) will stop being ripped off.

I just had a friend, who contacted me on behalf of a friend of hers, asking for some DL advise. I directed her to tell her friend about DIS, but also to NOT book the DL accommodation through an Aussie TA. It was too late! They had already done it and paid in full! :headache:

I know I've bought tickets through the DL website, but I've never bought a package through them, but I figured you could do that too.

Anyone going to join Club 23???

These people are so....unbelievably.....dumb.....
The worst part being that they are called "reporters" so people will BELIEVE them...
They'll believe that Huey Dewy and Louie are Donald's sons (as reported yesterday) and that it is Club 23 (as reported today)

Wall...

bash....

head....

Oh and why would they bother with special offers for us?? We are coming this much WITHOUT them trying...why bother?
