Today is the last day........

For my sanity Today was the kids last day of school and they only went until 10:30. They have only been home less than an hour and they are at each others throats fighting It is going to be a lonnnnnnnnng summer

My DS 11 still has 6 full days and 5 half days. He'll last about a week and then be bored, or will VMK all day. He doesn't have a sibling to fight with but also doesn't have one to play with.

I already counted, there's 81 days of summer off. When I was at DS's school yesterday, I mentioned the count to several moms. They couldn't believe I was counting to September already.

DD12 has one more three hour day tomorrow (to attend "graduation" for the eighth grade students) and then we're done!!! She'll only have three weeks at home this summer, though - we have several short trips planned, plus she'll be at camp for a month. My problem is getting her to focus on what I need her to do before and after camp before she scoots out of town again!!! She also has some summer math and reading assignments - I'm really looking forward to trying to make her do those!!

My guys (5 &7) will spend about 2 weeks in brotherly bliss. It is hard to explain but they go into this euphoric state of kindness and love. Week 3 the horns will come out. Lucky for me they will be at hockey camp that week.

I am glad school is out, I really do love it when they are home We are actually getting ready to go out to lunch to celebrate the last day of school.

ETA: We will be leaving to go out to lunch as soon as they stop fighting

I feel your pain sista! DD has been out of school since last friday. Friday bf rode bus home with dd stayed till 9pm. Sat. talked on the phone with bf half the day asked to go over to his house and hang out at least half a dozen times. Sunday had big get together bbq/pool party. (Adult time yea!) had 3 teen friends over all day and half the evening. Sunday bf comes over to house stayed for 4 hours. Monday dd asked to go to bf NO! Tuesday BF NO! Yesterday BF? Ok sat down told her the rules for summer were only 2 times a week for a couple hours visiting with bf and he comes over here more often than you go there. (his grandparents raise him and they keep their eye on them pretty well) We'll see how this turns out. If I didn't like this boy so much (he is a really good kid).

We haven't hit the boy stage here yet. DD and her friends still think boys are icky and annoying, I just keep telling her yes they are, you need to stay away from those nasty icky boys The sad thing is she starts 7th grade next year so I know it is coming
