I need to tell you all about a co-worker of mine.

Dean is an ex-marine & a petty officer in the Naval Reserve.

He is a really intelligent & resourceful Paramedic & Firefighter whom I have had the pleasure of working with on the job.

He always appeared to be in superb health ("studmuffin" was the good-natured term I threw at him upon occasion).

This morning, after getting off shift, Dean drove home and went for a morning run.

Dean suffered an unexpected massive heart attack and died.

Dean was 36 years old.

He leaves behind a wife and 6 y.o. child.

This is so bad I have trouble putting it into words...............

Love everyone around you like it is the last time you will see them.

Goodbye Dean. We'll meet again someday.

How tragic! :( My deepest sympathy to the family and friends. :(

Oh my....this is so sad. I will pray for your friend and his family, this is so sad. You are right, as I say in my sig line, "treat every day as a precious gift"....

I am so saddened to hear this, my father died at 48 (same thing but he lived for 36 hrs) My mother was 43, my younger brother and sister were 14 and 16. The best thing were the people who remembered after the dust settled. Weeks and months after the funeral, men would call and ask my bro and sis if they wanted to go fishing or to get a bite to eat. It meant so much for them to spend time with people who KNEW my Dad. Those deeds are never forgotten.
I ask all people who know someone who has had a sudden loss (or any loss) to reach out as often as you can...especially long after the funeral...Often people think that bringing up that person reminds the loved ones of the loss...The opposite is true, that loss is ingrained in them, you are only allowing them to express what they already feel. It is so nice to be reminded that others miss your loved one also, that you aren't alone....
Prayers and hugs for you and his family,
wendy

Aw, how awful! I'm so sorry. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his friends including yourself of course.

I am so sorry :( My prayers go out to you and to his wife and child. (((((HUGS)))))
