Today in Music History:
Monterey Pop Festival begins on this day in 1967. It includes the Who, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Ravi Shankar, the Byrds, the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane and a lot of burning rope.
In 1978, the Film Grease opened.
In 1980, the film The Blues Brothers opened.
And since this is a slow day for music history, though I dont have proof, Im pretty certain that on this day in 1794, Ludwig von Beethoven was hacked off about something.
