Will Valentine's Day 2016 be worth the extra crowds?
We are planning a trip to southern California from February 10 to 15, my son's President's Day school break. My husband wants to spend some time doing . . . other stuff that is not Disneyland. (I'm like, isn't that what California Adventure is for?!?
) So we are only going to do 3 days at DL. Should I include Valentine's Day as one of those days because hey, it's Valentine's Day at DL? Or would we be better off going on days with lower predicted crowd levels and getting more done?
(If it helps to know: We haven't been to Disneyland since early 2013 and had a similarly short visit of about 4 days. We got the essentials done, but there were things we had to skip I would have liked to have tried. We don't know if we're staying on-site or off-site yet. We were leaning off-site, maybe renting a place near a beach, but then I read how cold the SoCal beaches are at that time of year . . . If we do this, this would be our first time not having the benefits of staying at an on-site resort. We have two young kids (ages 2 and 6), so we like to be there at rope drop and take a break in the afternoon. We stay until the fireworks but not if there's a second showing. I am a planner, i.e., I like to have my reservations in place and a touring plan to guide us -- though we allow for a lot of flexibility because things never go the way you plan.)
Thanks in advance for your insights!
