We will be taking the Disney cruise this summer from 4 nigths then off to WDW for another 3 nights (grad school graduation gift for my husband). I have reservations for All Star Movies at this point and have been thinking about upgrading to another resort to surprise my husband. We stayed at Wilderness in 1998 for our honeymoon and loved it! We will be taking our son (who will be 5 when we are there) and this will be his first time at WDW. Should I upgrade (if I have the money at that point- have to pay for cruise too) and if so tho what? I was thinking something alittle closer to Magic Kingdom since that is the only park we are going to go to.

Thank you for you help!:teeth:

We stayed at the allstar movies 2 years ago and we switched hotels the very next morning to Wilderness lodge. If it's possible i would suggest it. Maybe it was just us, but our room was near the pool and the kids were just running and screaming right past our door until way past 11pm when we fell asleep. Maybe because we just drove 19 hours in the car with 2 of our own kids. It was not a very relaxing astmosphere. Oh and the food court was always packed it took my husband 20 minutes to get coffee. And since you stayed at the Wilderness lodge before, you will be very disappointed. The Wilderness lodge is very beautiful. Switch if you can

Considering the occasion, as well as the age of your son, I would definitely recommend staying at one of the monorail resorts (GF, Contemporary, or Poly). They are all beautiful, well-themed, fun, and provide easy access to the MK, as well as Epcot. Plus, its easy to go back to the room for a quick nap or dip in the pool, versus taking a bus to a resort like the All Star (which can be quite crowded and noisy thoughout the day and evenings). Plus, the rooms and services are exceptional.

No matter where you stay, have fun!!!!

If you could afford it, I would stay at the WL your DS will love it.

Poly or GF!! It's has the monorail! If you ever want to hop to Epcot, you can take a diff monorail from MK park.

I love ASMo and my kids too (5/7). If you want quiet and the court not too busy, stay at the Love Bug or Mighty Ducks. Make sure you don't face the pool. We stayed at Toy Story facing Andy and it was awesome!! Lots of people visit Andy's room. We are somewhat near the pool and food court. So walk wasn't bad at all.

Have fun!

Thank you for the info! I think I will call Disney tonight for some prices. I will have to look at my budget and refigure a few things! What about the moderate priced hotels?

I think a moderate would work well for you too, at least better than a value, and not completely break your bank.

Port Orleans Riverside is a beautiful resort and it sounds like French Quarter is reopening in March so that is an option too. I think your five year old would love the pool at French Quarter.

Whatever you decide, I hope you have a great trip!

For the moderates, the Port Orleans Riverside in WONDERFUL!!

Very quiet, romantic, with great theming and scenery, eateries shopping... lots to do...

Wonderful place to stay, great location... having stayed at all of the moderates, I believe it is the best.

have fun!!!
