we have a rainforest cafe where we live, so it's no big deal. my kids, 9 and 6, think it's kinda fake and too loud. also, my kids aren't into dinosaurs.

1. should we skip trex? lots of folks recommend it, but it doesn't seem like a great fit for us.

2. also, is trex any different than rainforest other than the dinosaurs? people say it's better than rainforest. why? is it because of the, "Paleo Zone, the full-on T-REX interactive experience: Go on an archaeological Discovery Dig, pan for treasures in Discovery Creek and get schooled in prehistory on the Paleo Screens." if so, can we do the paleo zone without eating there?

thanks!

Based on what you said, T Rex is very loud and it is all about dinosaurs. So I would skip eating there. The food is not better then RFC imo. You can still go in just to shop and look around, if you time if right you can experience the meteor shower that hits every 20 mins or so. Good luck!

Based on your kids, I would say skip it.

However, we thought the food was much, much better at T-Rex than at RFC. My DH, who will eat anything, wouldn't/couldn't finish his meal @ RFC.

We LOVE T-Rex, but it is basically RFC with dinosaurs. Based on what you stated, you may want to stay away from T-Rex because it is quite similar to RFC. Same food, same gigantic chocolate ice create dessert. Our family likes it, but our kids are still quite small (oldest is 6), so we have been to T-Rex both in Orlando and in KC. If the RFC is too "fake" for your kids...they will think T-Rex is the same.
