My kids DD 8 and DS 6 want to get trading pins on our next trip, but have not interest in trading them. Is there a different color lanyard or is there something on the lanyard stating they don't trade? Also, are the lanyard's only have color on them or do they have characters on them? Thanks!

I have one collector and one trader (and one in the middle), and none of us have ever been approached by a stranger to trade. (I suspect we look like novices!) They have a great time! That all being said, let them pick their favorite lanyard, and have at it. I owuld bet they might be interested in trading about the time they saw one they liked on a CM's lanyard! My DS9 found several star wars pins for his collection!

Very rarely has my 6 year old DD has been approached in the parks from a guest to trade. If they are, just politely so no thank you.

You may want to consider going to EBay or a Pin sale board before your trip and find some trading pins. They seem to sell for about $2-$3 a pin. You could buy a few pins in the park for their collection and have them trade a few with CMs to add to their collection.

If you want to learn about pin trading, take 1/2 hour and visit Scoop's one o'clock pin talk in the back of Exposition Hall. It goes from Sunday to Wednesday. Very entertaining and will help your children enjoy the hobby more.

Regards.

Chuck
