To those who have "lost" a kid at WDW...

I also use the wristbands from name bubbles. They have MY name and my cell phone number on them. They are water proof for a few days at least - we've never used more than one on a trip.

DS is now able to recite my cell and my full name. He can recite the protocol though we have never tested it - go to a CM, another mom, someone with little kids - let them know you are lost - ask them to call the number on your wristband.

When he was a bit younger his version of the protocol was "I can't find my mama. Can you help me find a new mama?" ;)

We made our own safety tattoos with the special paper from Amazon. The lasted about two days, but we brought a large supply. We put them on their forearm.

We did lose our son at Animal Kingdom. I was holding my daughter's hand (7) who's was holding my son's hand (3) as we passed through a heavy crowd. When we got to the other side, my son was missing. We hustled back though again to see my son crying in the distance. It probably only lasted a couple minutes but two CMs were already with him. Never need the tattoo, thankfully.

I read probably on here when I asked the same question is to take a photo of the child each morning so you know what they are wearing. In that moment of panic can you remember what said child was wearing or if they changed a shirt cause they got something over the shirt

Def! I plan on taking a picture every morning from my phone of my kids. Much easier these days with the technology

Definitely tell kids a game plan to follow and tell it over and over, and let them know which people are cast members/"safe strangers"!

When my youngest was about 3 (he's almost 23 now), we were in Williamsburg, VA with my parents, sister, bil, brother, sil, and our 4 kids. We had watched the blacksmith working at his "house" and then went out the gate and on to two more "houses" before we noticed that my youngest was not with us. I was in such a panic :scared: because this was not like being in WDW where you have cm's and a fence around the park. Luckily, DH backtracked and found him playing with a gate (chain and ball closure) at the blacksmith's house. He said he knew to stay there because he didn't see us and remembered that we had told the kids to stay where they are and we will find them...and not to go off with strangers!!
